I need to buy a good vacuum for less than $100. What would you suggest.

OK, so after 10 plus years with my crappy ass Hoover, it finally broke. I now want to buy a good vacuum for less than $100. What can you guys reccomend to me?

Yes, it was really the principle to which I was referring. I'm sure a moderately skill DYI'er could fashion a cheaper version out of a horse syringe and some fuel line hose.......not that I would know.

You are not going to buy a decent vacuum for less than $100.

I've picked up a decent upright at one of the clearance outfits for about $130. or so:

Years ago I bought a restored vac at a Vacuum repair shop...I still have it and used it today to do the steps. One of the wheels is off but it still cleans fine after like 20 years.
