Your reaction reinforces my point!... Don't get overconfident and fall asleep at the wheel!... I know you are very pleased with your returns, and rightly so... but NO investment is 100% crash-proof.

I'd like to take a moment of silence for crash4 - his ego is on the floor, and crash7- he never saw it coming. I love it because there's never any surprises, just new players.

Silver is over 12 today.

Can't wait until it hits 14 so I can come here again and say: "Well, I was telling everyone when it was 7 bucks that it would go up but nobody believed me." Oh yeh, and that was only in September only about 6 months ago. 100% profits are always nice and appreciated.

I didn't hear anything about a Mexico strike so I'm not sure about that. As far as my exit strategy, I will get out when it gets to 20. Heck, I bought some 100oz silver bricks, bullion coin, 50oz bricks for around 7 bucks etc. I only hold physical silver, not the fake certificates that have no actual silver backing them up. I guess I'm getting greedy but I have less than 10k invested in silver so it's nothing much plus I don't need any money at the time. I'll take the chance of having it go to 20 and then I'll dump it all.

Oh yeh....if anybody is setting up a Scottrade account then let me know as we will both benefit. I'll send you a referral where YOU get 3 free trades and I get 3 trades as well. We both benefit.

I think it's only 500 bucks to start....

Holy sheepshank, what's up with silver? My dad gave me a 100oz brick, back when it was $4/oz, and now I see it's worth three times that figure. How/where does one sell such an item?

The ETF I spoke of in the original post has been approved, but when it will actually begin trading is not known. There's huge hoards of silver in private hands that don't show up in any stats., but known warehouse stocks could be quickly be spoken for through a vehicle like the ETF if a real mania develops. That is beginning to happen now, but what sets it off is really a big break that the market comes back from – makes a new high and begins to run when all of the sold out bulls realize they got out way to soon.
Much as I hate to join the “gold bug” crowd the market is going to put the dollar back on the discipline of being linked to hard assets. Things of real value are about to explode. Sell your plastic boat and buy a woodie. In order to prop up the RE market (which is holding everything together right now, by pacifying people) the Fed will print money (M-3 is no longer reported) and we're off to one big final crescendo. Look out below – we go high now – very fast.

Well long as the real estate market stays healthy thats what I care about!

Sounds like I was sleeping I should have bought silver. Oh well I am not in a rush, I'll wait for it to crash in a few years and catch the next wave.

My portfolio is down 2% as well....lost over 1100 bucks on stocks alone.

It had to have come down a bit since literally everything has gone up in the last few days.

I think we're going to see 6 or 7$ again before we see anything higher than yesterday morning.

Why? The break was right on que and held the steepest trendline. I'd love to see a failure swing and then to take out these overnight lows at $11.30 in order to really shake out the weak longs, but I'm afraid it's only wishful thinking. Keep thinking the way you are though - somebody's got to loose what I'm making.

There is alot of scandal behind silver.......most people that buy silver don't actually hold it but rather get a certificate of ownership. A lot of times there is no actual silver behind that certificate because nobody is looking to cash in just yet. What if everybody went in to cash in these certificates today ?? Think about the profit that these banks are making by just selling paper with your name on it.

Most people that buy silver in bulk also pay for storage fees.....I don't know why they would do such a thing since most of the silver does not exist. It's only on paper.
You've just described the Federal Reserve, which isn't federal, nor does it have a reserve. Can you say fiat?
