Turkey Fuel!!!......

" Factory to Turn Guts Into Crude Oil
Nicole Davis, for National Geographic News

As Americans prepare to gobble down 45 million turkeys on Thursday, a factory in Carthage, Missouri, is turning the feathers and innards of the feted bird into a clean-burning fuel oil. Changing World Technologies (CWT), a New York environmental technology company that is behind the project, also has plans to turn the organic waste from chickens, cows, hogs, onions, and Parmesan cheese into light crude oil—and those are just the some of CWT's proposed ventures......"

Why has this technology not been pursued VIGOROUSLY by the current administration, or by our Congress, who all claim to want to reduce our dependency on foreign oil? Or at least there should be more excitement and effort from the very scientists whose panties are in a wad over our supposedly dwindling oil supply and contributions to global warming....

There is also research being conducted on a process to very efficiently convert pig waste, cattle waste, and even human waste into crude oil, and also for use in electricity-generating biofuel cells. Check out these articles:

There has also been a BIG development in production methods for biodiesel:

Of course this breakthrough will be severely lambasted by the oil and chemical industries, and largely ignored by our government.

The casual disregard for, and even repression of, superior ideas and technologies is really starting to grate on my nerves.... It's just as bad as the hemp issue.... It's far beyond ridiculous that hemp is still illegal.

I'm know I'm throwing a lot of irons in the fire at once here, but.... I'm on a roll. :D Please forgive my random ranting. :)

I agree.....but I must say this: Motivation and a drive to succeed are far too often mistaken for "greed" nowadays.

What's not to see in it? There's SO much more involved than just fuel prices....

Regardless of one's views on the Middle East, the environment, etc., crude oil supplies are not going to last forever. Whether it's in 10 years or 1,000 years...eventually we'll need a replacement.

It just amazes me how many people will simply ignore, or even actually fight against, a better way of doing something. ?!?!?!?!

The reason why they fight is because it's not better NOW! We only care about immediate gratification and could care less about tomorrow.

I alway shave thi sdiscussion with my friends and htey always say that everyhitng will be fine, without adding any more to the topic.

I for one am upset that gas costs are going back down. I thought that if the prices stay around 3 per or more, we might see some change in behavior.

Oh well. It'll happen sooner or later.

I am not fighting it. I was saying that few here thought much of it, per the low thread views and responses.

I was just saying that I have been on this bandwaggon for a while now.
