Stanley Tookie Williams will die.

I don't know if this has been discussed here yet but I just learned that California Gov. Schwarzenegger has declined clemency for Tookie. I just hope none of the people in Los Angeles start rioting because of this decision. He deserved to die and it was a shame that he was kept alive for this long because of all those Black Rights Groups.

I can't believe that they found him guilty of killing 4 people and it took this long to excecute him. Due to his gang status of being the founder of the "Crips" he probably killed more than that and we just don't know about it.

I got no problem with anti-death penalty position--and am troubled with the concept myself. However, the argument that 'he is a different person now' seemed pretty weak. How could his reformation (he got into a lot of trouble in the joint, btw) bring his victims back, which is why he was punished.
Never mind he has never expressed remourse for what he did, nor has he done ANYTHING to help against the Crips...a point his supporters dance around and avoid.

Let's hope this will be peaceful.....

COPY AND PASTE FROM SAVETOOKIE.ORG

SaveTookie.org is experiencing a lot of traffic, please come back later to see the full site.

We plan to have a large peaceful protest at San Quentin. At 8 pm at the East Gate of
San Quentin Prison. You can park on Francisco Blvd. E, but expect to walk 1
to 1.5 miles to get to the east gate. It will be dark, and there is uneven
pavement. We suggest you bring a flashlight, water, and wear good shoes and
warm clothing. This will be a peaceful protest. Please listen to security
people and don't engage the opposition as it only encourages them. Contact
the Save Tookie Committee at 510-253-5418 or 510-333-7966, or e-mail
info@savetookie.org for more information.

Just think how much tax money it took to keep the ba$tard alive all these years including court costs. They should have hung him years ago and put that money to a better use.

just a bit of info...

the guy has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize more than once, notably for his work writing anti-gang childrens literature. Yes, that would qualify as doing work against gangs.

He is not, in fact, the (or even a) founder of the Crips street gang. He joined the group two to four years after it's founding. Just because MSN puts it in a story, and everyone parrots it does not make it true. He did, however, make the crips a force in drug proliferation and violent crime during his time at the helm.

He has consistently maintained that he did not commit the crimes for which he has been convicted. Are you remorseful for things you did not do?

Exculpatory evidence has come to light several times during his incarceration, but he's been denied any access to legal avenues to investigate the evidence.

It's not about black rights.

Whos saying that he wasnt a founder of the crips? I dont know, and I'm critical of the newscasters, and they havent given me a reason to doubt that.

Listen to a social geographer who specializes in crime and gangs in LA... he might know what he's talking about...

Alejandro Alonso, who runs www.streetgangs.com, was interviewed. Here is a crip history page:

All the while he was incarcerated they should have put his muscle to good use-- making little rocks out of big ones.

People won't even cut off a hand for thievery but they want to put someone to death. Would you personally slice his throat with a knife like a chicken if he were restrained?

I have no sympathy but I'm anti death penalty because I think it's a copout. Like beating your kids. There's no reason we can't toss murderers in a damp, dark, cold, dungeon for life.
