HELP! Keys locked in car!!

Okay; so it's not my car but I need to go help a young lady get her keys locked inside a pontiac Grand Am. She can't afford a locksmith:greedy: Any ideas before I go over to her house.

Thanks:D

Take the sturdiest coat hanger (or hanger wire) you can muster with you.

If it is the 'in handel' type lock you want to bend an end of the wire back and forth until it breaks (creating a sharp edged point).
Bend a smallish V shaped hook in that end of the wire.
Insert the wire in through the rear door at the top of the window snakeing it through the rubber seal and maneuver it to where you can hook or grab the lock and pull it open to the back. (go in through front of front window if it opens to front)
If it is the pull up top of door panel type lock go at it from right on top of it.
Either grab it with the point and pull up or hook it with the hook and pull up. (If hooking being off to the side can give a little extra leverage)

Be prepared for a little dammage to the rubber seal in either case.

Sometimes this method does not work at all.

It is my only method. :-)

I used to be able to get into my 80's Toyotas in less than 30 seconds with a coat hanger but I would never use it on the 300E unless it involved some sort of emergency so it'd up to your good judgement to decide.

also consider... Call AAA

With 2 pairs of hands, I've had luck simply pulling the glass away from the upper seal on early Hyundais. This assumes the window does not have a door frame. Then the coat hanger activity is easy to do with no damage to seals.

Door frame was too stiff to pull out enough for a coat hanger wire. I couldn't buy a slim jim here.

AAA is on the way!:D
