ha, i was just making a point that the missus manners lesson about leather watch bands was a joke.
hey, you can wear your Top Roper in Calgery belt buckle with a suit, doesn't make it right.

And it doesnt have to be expensive, for suits I either wear an old Universal Geneva or Omega.

Don't intend to demean your Rolex, it's a fine watch, and 9 out of 10 people probably won't know the difference, but it's a sport watch, not a dress watch.

I like this ROLEX in particular...It retails for $220,000
They have it listed on ebay for 178,000. I would be very afraid wearing this watch.

Some people really think that Rolex is the pinnacle of watch's. The owners of Rolex stock should personally get on their knee's and "::%%$$###$# of the guy that created this notion.

You have to ask Koop specific questions... he's pretty much the source.

I wear a timex expediton midsize watch, on my left hand...
Scratched up pretty good, and has a few grease/oil stains on the leather that will not come out...

Works good, holds time... I like it.

A cheap watch says that you get the job done efficently, and at minimal cost...
or something like that

I like leather more then metal bands. My favorite new watches (im a collecter), are Skagens and Hamiltons. Look at their watches (skagens 80-$150, hamilton $200-$700)

I dont have a new Rolex, I have a old school oyster perpetual date. I am not a big fan of the jubilee bands and crap, just something nice that holds time.

Its like a Ferrai.
Do you need one? No.
Would you ever consider owning one? Maybe.
Whats it job in life? Status Icon.
You will find more people will go- what kind of watch do you wear? If you answer- "Oh I wear a Rolex" then people will know what kind of watch you have. If you say I have a Hamilton, guaranteed half of the people will be like WTF...

And with an older watch, you just have to create a little fund of say $1000. If it needs more work than that, don't fix it. You just have to know what you are getting into.

Yip!

I always challenge the status seeker Rolex guy about why they don't wear Vacheron or Patek, you know something that the masses have no idea about. I guess it's because they are fooled into believing the Rolex is the best watch when its really and entry level luxury watch.
