Is this a good watch?

I would like to buy a nice professional watch. I'm looking at this watch, and it seems to fit me well. I'm however not sure about the rectangaular face.

What do you think?

Here is a similar watch in in a round face.

What one would be most approiate in the business world?

Thanks for any information.

Not sure what you mean by "professional" but a good general rule of thumb is that if you are wearing a suit your watch should have a leather strap.

For a more "business casual" sort of office either would be fine.

Hey, thank you for the reply. I always tought a metal band was more formal. Good to know otherwise though.

That first one looks kinda like a women's watch.

Then I must have broken all the "rules". I wear a Rolex with my suites in all business occasions.

Here is the one that I wear when I am in my professional attire.

I think they are going for close to 300 on ebay but when I bought this one two years ago it was at exactly 500 bucks. (pretty cheap)
This one is kinetic so it runs forever as long as you wear it as it charges itself from the motion of your hand. The glass is bulletproof, it's made from some type of crystal so you don't get any scratches (I don't even have one). Overall, it is a great watch that looks awesome.....I've received many compliments on the look.

metal bands (like on a datejust or sub) are considered "sport" watches. It's akin to wearing a button down shirt with a suit.

Where does one find those little rules of fashion? My job has me stepping up in responsibility, while rubbing shoulders with quite a few political bigwigs, so I need to know how to dress the part, lest I embarass clients and such. Is there a good resource for fashion tips for the clueless?

fyi: I still have a lowly stainless steel Swatch day/date w/metal band.

nh500,

A simple Gold Watch, is complementary to a business suit and situation. It could be a Rolex to a Timex, if they make one. :)

President Bill Clinton, broke that ettiquette when he wore a Sport Watch, during his duties as President. I wonder who he was timing? Oh yeah, he liked to jog as part of his fitness plan. :D

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR...:beerchug:

I have a Rolex thet my dad gave me when he got his Submariner. So, that is now my casual watch. However, when I'm not wearing that, I wear a Victorionox Swiss Army watch. It is a nice watch, not to overly gaudy, and it keeps accurate time. Looks very professional. I say go for one you oike, and one that looks good.

rolex sucks

It's not snobbery, that's just the way it is. And if you want to drop high end watch names Weil and B&M don't really make the cut.

It's funny how us "guys" find the dumbest things to argue over. If guys wore tampons we would argue over whose tampon is bigger :D

I wear a plain old Hamilton.
