Gentlemen;

I ask that your attention be drawn to the situation with Iran. It's set to start up construction and or the operation of a Nuclear Power Facility, capable of producing weapons grade Plutonium, in March, 2006.

Iraq, about a decade ago, tried the same thing. Israel, knocked it out with a very effective airstrike.

The Media, states that Iran will start up, in March, 2006.

I think that Israel, will do the same thing to Iran, as Israel, has stated that it will. If Israel, is attacked with Nuclear Weapons, it will attack with the same.

Keep March, 2006. in your focus. That's less than 90 days away.

Well the question was will there be a major war comparable to WWII. That's why I said what I said. If you're talking about any war, then sure something on a smaller scale related to terrorism is more likely.

Hopefully a few dozen nukes exploding in the Mideast won't affect us too badly.

We did used to set them off in Nevada ourselves.

The Israelis may end up having to relocate.
I've always thought that they should buy the Bahamas
and set up shop there.

ok england was a world leader during the 1600-1700 basicly.. then we gained respect and world leadership after ww1 basicly well we've had a good run at it.. if you look at it in history one country is world leader for somewhere around 100 years.. china and japan really dont count they had dynasties for a loooong time but its looking the world leadership is going back to that area of the world.. wouldnt you agree?

That is untrue. If you look at the death rates by century, clearly the wars between democracies and totalitarians have resulted in the far greater death rates. The internal wars in China resulted in as many deaths as any war until the 20th century.

The biggests culpit is religion differences. There isno other cause in human history for more deaths than in the name of God, Allah, or what have you. The day we rid of all religions, the day we stop killing each other in grand scale.
I'm not saying they are forcing their ways upon us NOW....I was saying they would love nothing more than to force them upon us like they are to others now. Tibet is an example of one where Chinia is currently doing this...adn how they are beating their chests trying to do to Taiwan.....

And the Muslims oppression.....pick any Muslim majority country and you will see the problem....if its not there already you got groups trying to drag everyone down to their level.

You missunderstand the currant situation. Japan loves us. Because Japan killed millions of Chiness 60 or so years ago and are afraid that China wants revenge. So everytime the Chiness poke into there territory by "mistake" they go nuts and come running to us. They are also watching China's millitary build up and becoming nervious. I suspect we are letting Japan build up as well and taking their armed forces off our lesh a bit. Notice their recent involvment in Iraq.

I am not to worried about the middle east. I mean even if Iran has a nuke so what? They fire it off we level them the war is over before lunch. No one is stupid enough to start using nukes. Iran have no millitary to back it up. The middle east in general would be a very easy part of the world for a joint, US/Britian/German/Russian force to roll over. China on the other hand actually has the ability to back up their talk. A war with China will make Iraq look like a walk in the park. Be ready to hear about body counts in the hundreds of thousands and have rationing along with a draft.

Thats why war with China needs to be avoided.

The problem with a nuclear exchange with the mullahs of Iran is that their delivery system is difficult to detect.

They give several nukes to several 3rd parties, say Hezbollah, Hamas, and Al Queda. Don't let each party know of the others. Tell them the nukes are only viable for say, a year. Iran then asks each to use at least one in Israel and the others wherever else they may wish.

So Tel Aviv gets incinerated and (say) London, Darwin, and Miami. Who will the Brits and USA nuke? N. Korea? A failed soviet client state? Iran?

Frankly if they set off one on our shores I'd just nuke the entire middle east as revenge. Basicly say if you want to go that far we will finish it. Nuke them all except for a few countries say Saudi Arabia. Then move in on the ground with Israel and mop up the rest of them and pump whatever oil they have left.

A sort of 'Doomsday Machine' ala Dr. Strangelove, only with some being more doomed than others.

Ample payback in my mind......send them all to meet their maker if they try that. And end their bloodlines once and for all.

The trick with making a doomsday strategy work is absolutely convincing your enemy and the whole world that you will do it.

I don't think that our country is even close to consensus on that one. Isntead, about 30% would say it was our own fault another 20% would say that their side would have done it differently, about 30% would get-off on bombing anybody, guilty or not, and the last 20% don't know what they think about anything for more than the attention span of a "cockaroach."

If so, who will be at war? How will it be fought? Nuclear missiles?

To get back to the original question above , I will say I hope not for a long time. But I will say this; We have been in a war with Militant Islam, since The Iran Hostage Situation, back in the Carter days and even before that.

The March of 2006, comment makes me think that it may open the door to the Big War, alluded to in the above topic question.

Mad

A nuclear first strike was and is suicidal, but suicidal bombers are getting popular
