They have 3 or 4 under $200 at Harbor Freight. For that small of a structure, assuming you are doing a footing, why not just stick with a reg. transit to shoot the grade and measure the diagonals with a tape? If on pilings, why even bother with a transit?

It seems that I'm rectangularly-challenged. The last couple of times I've been out there and tried to set location stakes I couldn't get the thing squared-up to save my soul. I'm thinking
that a laser chalk might save a step or two and since I'll be working alone most the time, that could help a lot.
