I'd buy an AK before I bought an M16 if it was for just playing around. I never cared too much for the M16. The AK feels much more comfortable. My $0.02

I'm a blued steel/oiled walnut fan, and my Type 03 Curio and Relics license allows me to walk in any buy all sorts of interesting stuff, or have it mail-ordered to my front door in the BBT (big brown UPS truck). It's not a dealer's license, and lots of modern guns are not eligible, but even 1950'era SKS's are eligible, CZ50, CZ52 pistols, goo-gobs of cheap bolt action battle rifles that date from the 1890's to 1950's. The machining on a 90-year old rifle will amaze you, none of this plastic/polymer crap. I enjoy rifles that chamber obsolete cartridges, so half the fun is rummaging around at gun shows looking for ammo...the best part is, the guns all look the same to my wife, so it's not obvious to her when I buy a new one. When I get a new car, she notices.

Years ago when I was in college I had a gun collector friend who had a fully auto Mac10 and Thompson. He let me shoot the Thompson a few times and it was a pretty neat firearm. It was one of the most controllable 45 cals I believe I have ever shot.

My list would be:
Ak-47 ever since I was little I have always loved this gun, in video games I always used it. I don't even need to shoot it much it is just one of those things I want.

MP5, it's German what else needs to be said? The Germans make awsome guns, watch's, and cars.

A Thompson would bo awsome, or a BAR.

FN P90 is only $1,700! Thats such a cool gun, they have used them on the Sci fi series Stargate for a very long time.

MP5 is $14k! Hmm maybe I'll get a P90 insted, it would make a great home defence weapon.

Every sport I like costs a fortune, I can never take up a cheap hobby like baseball.

I worked on a house for a couple of years way up in the hills -- nearest house was 1/2 or so mile away. One day, the supe had an auto Mac10 one guy had brought in to show him and was out behind the office trailer about to shoot it off into a tree stump when I happened to walk up. Thing sounded like a loud, I mean loud buzzer when he fired it off. Just burped out bullets so fast you couldn't hardly hear the space between rounds.
