Ok I saw Mail Call last night, how the heck do I get a machine gun?
That was the coolist episode ever! So how does one go about legally getting a machine gun? All those people did it so it isn't impossible? I have always loved the AK-47 and some day I'd like to have a gun collection. I don't want a wimpy semi auto 10 round mag one. I want the full auto 30 round banana clip version.
Has anyone been to that ranch in Knob Creek Kentucky? I'd like to go to that show sometime. The night shoot looks amazing. |
Check your state laws for specificity, but generally, one needs to clear a class three background check, pay the $200 tax and the confiscatory price of such a weapon. Then, wait........
|
Really! Thats so cool! As soon as I get out of college and have a real job I am buying an AK-47 or G36, I love this country!
I need to get off my but and get my pistol permit. That would probably be a good start. |
pistol permit?
|
Do you have to have a permit just to own a pistol where you live? Wow. In most places you only have to pass a background check and endure a three day waiting period.

perhaps hatty means a concealed weapons permit. That would make sense. There is no waiting period for CCP holders. Personally, I believe my concealed carry permit is inherent and recognized by the formative document known as the constifreakingtution.

www.gunsamerica.com i saw that link on cnn when they were discussiong how easy it is to buy a .50 cal sniper rifle with no background checks.. droooooooool i want 3.. ive searched there before.. i can easiyl get a BAR or a still in the box with factory papers UZI and a tech 9.. lets just say selling a gun from private owner to another private citizen kicks butt.. id kill for a BAR or at least a ww2 era battle rifle.. not the bar but the one with the clip that pops out and goes poiiing
or maybe a ww2 german luger.. gee wiz i forgot the name of it but soldiers desired them . im going to collect fire arms one day and have a luger in my SEL's just look at this beuty http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976654929.htm |
Yeah I was refering to the concealed weapons permit. CT it actualy pretty liberal with gun laws for a northern state so I'm happy.

BTW, I directed the NRA's national TV show, "The NRA Today" for a few years here in the DC area, so yes, I'm a gun advocate. |
who is going to be the first turret mounted Maduece turret mounted on an ML?
|
Hat, get an AR-15 or MP5. The MP5 is the best gun ever IMO, not only do I owe my life to the designers of the MP5 it's the most handy firearm ever made.
|
The AR-15 is a fine rifle, if a bit hard to keep clean inside when shooting cheap, dirty ammo. Of course, there's also an obvious solution to that.
If I lived in a state which allowed me to buy a full-auto rifle, I might an AR-15 lower receiver built for selective fire. Then you can mate it to whatever AR-15 upper you want, with no legal hassles. |

I'd buy an AK before I bought an M16 if it was for just playing around. I never cared too much for the M16. The AK feels much more comfortable. My $0.02

I'm a blued steel/oiled walnut fan, and my Type 03 Curio and Relics license allows me to walk in any buy all sorts of interesting stuff, or have it mail-ordered to my front door in the BBT (big brown UPS truck). It's not a dealer's license, and lots of modern guns are not eligible, but even 1950'era SKS's are eligible, CZ50, CZ52 pistols, goo-gobs of cheap bolt action battle rifles that date from the 1890's to 1950's. The machining on a 90-year old rifle will amaze you, none of this plastic/polymer crap. I enjoy rifles that chamber obsolete cartridges, so half the fun is rummaging around at gun shows looking for ammo...the best part is, the guns all look the same to my wife, so it's not obvious to her when I buy a new one. When I get a new car, she notices.

my last girlfriend owns an AR-15 her step dad and mom are gun advocates they each have an AR-15 and a mess of other semi auto and full auto stuff.. boy am i glad i never snuck in with her or i wouldnt be here today my friends..

Years ago when I was in college I had a gun collector friend who had a fully auto Mac10 and Thompson. He let me shoot the Thompson a few times and it was a pretty neat firearm. It was one of the most controllable 45 cals I believe I have ever shot:).
|
My list would be:
Ak-47 ever since I was little I have always loved this gun, in video games I always used it. I don't even need to shoot it much it is just one of those things I want. MP5, it's German what else needs to be said? The Germans make awsome guns, watch's, and cars. A Thompson would bo awsome, or a BAR.:D |
the FN P90 SMG is sooo awesome looking.. i think ive seen a video of someone shooting it.. said it was a pretty good weapon.. i wouldnt mind one.. looks all futeristic like from the Halo games
|
FN P90 is only $1,700!:D Thats such a cool gun, they have used them on the Sci fi series Stargate for a very long time.
MP5 is $14k! Hmm maybe I'll get a P90 insted, it would make a great home defence weapon.:D Every sport I like costs a fortune, I can never take up a cheap hobby like baseball. |
Regrading MP5's......... you get what you pay for.

I didn't know they switched back. I know that some outfits (ie, various SF) can option whatever they want but I thought that they regs were for 9mm. I remember our firearms instructor, an old gunny sgt (who hated sailors, BTW)), decrying the 9mm. That old mofo had been in the Pacific in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Had service stripes on his sleeve practically to his armpit. He'd shot Japanese soldiers at night with his sidearm and said that no 9mm would even give him the security and peace of mind that came out of the business end of a .45 auto. He had us taking the dang thing apart and putting it together with stories of having to do it on a volcanic sand-jammed pistol in the dark in a crater, waiting for the next wave of Japanese attackers. Gunny didn't appreciate young, smart-mouthed sailors worth a crap. However, I can still field-strip and reassemble that pistol. bet I could do it in the dark, too. 35 years later. B |

I should have said that they were replacing the 9mm in the sub machine guns with .45, specifically the UMP .45 . They are replacing the handguns Tangas can elaborate on that.

If they would take me I would but they don't want a crip like me running around. Thanks for the Vid that looks like fun. |
Right now I do a little play time with the UMP-40, not too bad but I prefer the MP-5. The MP-5 can hold a 32 round 5 ring group on full auto in abour 2.4 seconds, the UMP-40 is a touch harder to control. Nothing that can't be mastered with a little trigger time .
The Seals, and probably a few other SOG's, are packing the H&K SOG-45. Nifty sidearm, with attachment points for lasers, lights and other goodies. I had the opportunity to run a couple hundred round through one a couple years back, held a playing card sized group at 25-30 yards. Not too shabby for a "duty" gun. It is a far sight bigger than the Beretta 92, definitely more oomph on the receiving end. |
