'Brokeback Mountain': The Raping of the Marlboro Man

Very good and insightful article on the marketing of alternative lifestyles and other views by big Hollywood. BTW, I have no problem with gay people-- only their actions. Most of you already know that.

If this thread has to be deleted I understand. But I think we can all be mature, right?

Thanks for the Worldnet link. It's a long article but it goes so far beyond just this movie. Thanks, I'm bookmarking it.

I was riding the Boston subway this past summer with my wife and daughter, heading for the Museum of Fine Arts, (to see Ralph Lauren's car collection) Two young men, somewhere between the ages of 16-19 got on. They were obviously in love. The looked in each other's eyes, held hands and talked passionately to each other. We later saw them walking thru the museum.

I felt really good about American culture that day. In previous decades those young men would have had to struggle for years with their sexual identity, probably disappointing a number of women, just like what happens in the movie. They would have wasted endless hours contemplating how to behave in a culture that did not accept them. They may even have had children who would struggle through the changing sexual idenities of their parents. It is so much better that they were able to express their sexual identity at a young age and not be ostracized for it. I salute all those people; straight, gay, bisexual, transexual, and celibate who have fought to defend the dignity, health, and rights of our sexual identities.

I would evaluate the article, but I don't have all month to tabulate each errant reach of attempted logic contained in nearly every paragraph. But he's pretty cute in the picture.

I had to smile at the author's reference to the raping of the Marlboro man. I know a guy who posed for a few of those Marlboro ads. He's as gay as the day is long.

Sequels commin

Brokeback Mountain is so popular that they are planning sequels already

Bareback Mountin is coming next

Backdoor Mountin after that

And then........ Rump Rangers of the Wild West

I think that Gay Pride Day is OK as long as they all go back to being ashamed after it's over, eh?

Hold on while I vomit. Your daughter must be very very young, otherwise you would have to had a devil of a time explaining how such unnatural behaviour was normal or acceptable and who in Gods name, could you honestly in all concience impress on your daughter that this conduct is alright? You need a licence to drive a car, a certificate showing you are comptenet at operating a vehicle. Shame you don't need a licence to bring up kids, you'd fail. Since when has this culture accepted them?

You go on to say you "Salute" Our parents and grandparents who fought in two world wars and untold conflicts to protect our rights, dignity and way of life. A salute is a sign of respect with a long military history. Don't tarnish what so many have died for in the same breath as homosexuals. Sorry Gays, doesn't sound so evil. I have nothing against gays, but don't put me or any other veteran in a foxhole with one in the next war. Hold on, not too many "Gays" would want to break a nail or get their hands dirty and "well, that big gun is so heavy". There must be a God, for he is obviously thinking along your lines, he created HIV-AIDS, it's doing a bang up job of looking after their health, well being and gives them dignity on their final demise.

I await the onslaught from the butt plug supporters!

I would take your analysis seriously but you didn't analyze the article, just disparaged it.

No need to vomit, your vitriol is quite enough.
Perhaps you'd like to elaborate on how homosexuality is 'unnatural'? Homosexuality is less unnatural than your typing on a keyboard. Do you deserve AIDS for engaging in such vile and disgusting keyboarding? Homosexuality is found in many animal species. David, the great Jewish military commander was in love with Jonathan so I don't see how you can suggest that homosexuality and military life are incompatible.

Wow. Now there's a post. What are the odds that German Marque is for real with this stuff?

My favorite part is where he says, "I have nothing against gays." What an amazing line to put in the middle of something like that.

That one's a doozy.
