I think the place might be realy cool if it wasn't so weird. I mean that looks like mediterranean architecture which is pricey anywhere.

I agree this house has a lot of potential. It looks even weirder in person. The multiple satellite dishes and antennas on the roof, the black plywood on the windows, plus the hub caps and barbed wire make it look like a Mad Max/Road Warrior crash house. I didn't have to look for the address to find it, that's for sure.
There are many square miles of houses in SF that butt up against each other. The connecting walls are built from the outside in. Usually, there's no front yard either. There'll be a ring of houses around a block like that, with all the back yards forming sort of a connected, though separated, green zone which is not visible from the street. That's the only cool thing about them -- the back yards are way private, at least from those not living in the block. But this house has a big yard by SF standards -- and is free standing to boot.

The bigger they come, the harder they fall

SAN FRANCISCO Man jailed in dispute with neighbors - Jaxon Van Derbeken Wednesday, February 22, 2006 A man described by police as a nightmare neighbor was jailed again Tuesday after he allegedly failed to heed a court order and returned home rather than stay 150 yards away from his neighbors, police said. Don Bertone, 54, was first arrested in mid-January, after a police search found illegal weapons, drugs and ammunition at his Lathrop Avenue home in a community known as Little Hollywood. The police raid came after his neighbors alleged that Bertone menaced the people on the block by playing high-pitched tones, and intimidated anyone who confronted him. A judge in the weapons case ordered Bertone's bail to be cut from $500,000 to $250,000 after a preliminary hearing this month in which some charges were dropped but the most serious drug and weapons allegations, including possession of methamphetamine and an illegal silencer, were upheld. He was freed on bail Feb. 10 on the condition that he honor the order to stay away from his neighbors. Capt. Al Pardini of the Bayview police station said Tuesday that Bertone ignored the stay-away order and returned to his home last week. Police obtained another warrant, this one for $150,000 bail, and Bertone was taken into custody by officers when he appeared in court Tuesday on the weapons and drug case, Pardini said. "Unfortunately, since Mr. Bertone didn't adhere to the judge's order, he is going to be facing a new set of charges for violating the court's order,'' Pardini said. Four police reports have been lodged in the past week, alleging that he came within 150 yards of his neighbors. He allegedly revved his motorcycle at one neighbor or ran a leaf blower for about 45 minutes in front of his home, police said. Bertone's lawyer, Bob Waggener, said he has not seen any of the reports so he could not comment on the latest charges.
