New M-100 BBS up and running
All:
The International Association of M-100 Owners (IAMO), a comprehensive web-based resource and guide for owners of M-100 powered vehicles (6.3, 6.9, 600), has put up a new BBS forum effective immediately. This forum utilizes the WebBBS system, which was used on the original www.m-100.org and until December 2005 on the www.m-100.cc (International M-100 Group) web sites. Many owners and enthusiasts have professed to prefer that simpler WebBBS bulletin board layout and format over the more modern systems such as this one, and the BBS systems at www.peachparts.com, the M-100 Group's new BBS at www.m-100.cc, and the "traditional" forum at the IAMO site at www.m-100.net The IAMO web site welcomes any and all comers who have information, questions, comments, or resources they wish to share with fellow M-100 car owners. The web address for the "new" IAMO forum is at: http://www.m-100.net/cgi-bin/webbbs/webbbs_config.pl? The URL for the IAMO main site (traditional forum is accessible) is at: http://www.m-100.net The IAMO doesn't require membership to use either of its BBS systems, view its extensive photo library, or otherwise peruse the site (registration is required for use of the "traditional" modern-style IAMO BBS, but not the new WebBBS system). The IAMO's extensive collection of M-100 documentation does require a single-time payment of a small fee for full, lifetime access. New M-100 resources, never before seen or provided by any organization, are being prepared for addition to the site this winter. In addition, production of the IAMO journal, M-100 INFO, is currently being resumed and all future issues will be available on the site. The IAMO is a certified politics-free organization that is open to all comers, whether M-100 owners or not. Look forward to seeing you there ! Cheers, Gerry (charter member, IAMO) |

I'm not averse to the cars. I'm averse to the top management of the International M-100 Group and how they oversee the club. Just now I found out that the club banned a dissenting, long-term member (not me, if you think it is, as I haven't been a member of that club for 3.5 years) from their web site and bulletin board because of his raising of pertinent points and problems and demanding discussion and action about them. The reaction I saw before he was banned ranged from blame to indifference to shunning.
This is censorship, and a new low in my eyes. I still very much like the cars and do plan to own all three of them again in future years. Just not right now, as I can't handle the politics of the club's leadership. I have lots of knowledge and information/documentation to share with owners, so the IAMO seems to be a very open way to do this to help owners. No political ambitions on my part, just enthusiasm for the cars and owners in general !! Cheers, Gerry |
