Exclamation PayPal Fraud Alert Please Read!!!!

it all started last week with a small unrecognised amount for $1.30 that was charged to my paypal account, it seemed odd, but i wasn't concerned about such a small amount and let it pass thinking it was just a charge by a legitimate company i had purchased something from. that was until yesterday morning, i had one debit card purchase for $68.50 that cleared and another two for over $500 that fourtunately did not clear. both "businesses" were based in the United Kingdom. not sure how they got my card info, i never fell for one of the fishing scams i sometimes get from fake paypal sites. so if you see a small unrecognized charge on your account summary, learn from my problem, i had to report both cards stolen and clear my paypal account. the fortunate thing was that i had just made a purchase that lowered my account balance, or the $500 would have cleared. just a friendly warning for those of you that use paypal. any comments of similar issues or advice always welcome.

Interesting, I had an email from a buyer on ebay stating that they were trying to pay me but they couldn't get paypal to recognize my address. It came with a legitimate looking ebay question from buyer email. The first thing that made me suspicious was it was sent to my personal email that I do not use for pay pal or ebay. The item # was nothing that was related to any of my sales. Ultimately they were fishing for my pay pal user name.

And they keep phishing, and phishing,,,, I'm sure they catch a few bites. Probably more than I want to know about, since I do all my banking online.

Had a PayPal fraud alert sent to me via e-mail once...I was already wise to that, but I read on for curiosity...it included a link for me to click on to verify my information. I clicked on the link, and sure enough, it looked like a legitimate PayPal signon page.

I'm sure that page wouldn't take you anywhere, but the info would be acquired and an unknowing individual would be prey to all sorts of malicious account activity.
