OK, I know this sounds crazy, but I wanna go to Israel in July.

Can anyone give me any tips on getting good deals on flights, lodging, etc....

Not sure about any deals since it is high season. Youth hostels (sp?) a typically a good idea. Safe, clean, minimum of luxuries but it will get the job done.

I usually call the embassy and ask for all their tourism stuff when I go some where. Usually I get several pounds of literature which is quite helpful.

My dad is going in Apr but it is with a survivor group so everything is taken care of.

Hi there -

Check with Iberia Airlines, as well as Delta Airlines. Iberia has excellent fares - have taken them to Rome on a number of occasions. Delta is beginning new, non-stop service from Atlanta to Tel Aviv, and will be offering special introductory fares, though I don't know when that begins.

If you're a student and you qualify, http://www.studentuniverse.com might also be helpful. I just returned from a trip to the Holy Land in late November ... it was a wonderful experience. Hope you get to go!
