If they are guilty beyond doubt. Not reasonable doubt mind you. Then Hang 'em. If not then take them off death row and stop wasting millions of dollars to execute someone 30 years later. What kind of deterent is that? Danny

I am not in favor of the death penalty, but methods such as lethal injection and the electric chair are beyond comprehension to me.
If you're going to kill someone, just shoot them. A firing squad is much faster and much more humane. And what do bullets cost - 5 cents each?

I agree with you though--Utah I think was the last of the firing squad states, which did so voluntarily as the SC has never ruled any method of execution was Unconst. |

If anyone deserves the death penalty, it's this guy. The story is just so cheap and sordid. Massive evidence fingered him. Tookie Williams deserved being spared more than this guy. ***EDIT*** Whoops! Upon further reading the thread, I see the master of deadly arts, our own MedMech, beat me to it. I understand the guillotine was developed because the executioner would sometimes aim poorly with the beheading ax, creating a bit of a stir. I forget who, but some famous miscreant received two mis-swung blows, injuring his shoulder and I forget what else, complete with spurting blood and howls of pain. I guess they pardoned the guy cause of it (?!?) and to avoid a repeat of that, enter the guillotine. People raved about it... they lost their heads over it...
