a moment of silence for Deputy Fife
:(
Any Andy Griffith fans here? I grew up watching the show on prime time. It is one of the best shows ever put on tv in my opinion. I was sorry to hear of Don Knott's passing this weekend. |
maaan that sucks.. and knotts was a neat old man .

Yeah, I loved the Andy Griffith Show.
I thought it was hilarious that Barney was allowed to only carry one bullet in his pocket due to the fact that he shot himself in the foot with his own gun. |

I grew up watching The Andy Griffith Show, when it was on in prime time. I always though Deputy Fife to be the funniest thing going, add to that the fact his high strung character seemed even more high strung when compared to the laid back Sheriff Taylor. Also loved, and still do, The Incredible Mr. Limpit. I saw it first at the pictureshow and many times later on TV. I hope to find it on DVD someday so I can introduce the munchkins to it before Jim Carey does a vulgar remake.
RIP Deputy Fife :( |
Farewell Great One
One of the few shows I could (and still can) sit and watch back to back to back...
My kids love his movies as well. The Apple Dumpling Gang, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, The Incredible Mr. Limpet, just to name a few. He was one of the best. Rest in Peace, Deputy |
I miss his generation of comedy. It takes more talent to be really funny without vulgarity, anyone can do that.
Hats off to you Barney, Paul _______ 98 E300 |

Mr. Limpet sleeps with fishes.

I love the old Andy Griffith shows, and Barney Fife especially.
Funniest Barney Fife bit was the episode where he joined the church choir. He sang horribly off-key, yet somehow still believed he was a fine singer. The sight of him singing off key while moving around the choir trying to figure out who really was off key is one of the funniest TV scenes ever! And I'll never forget, as a kid, watching the Apple Dumpling Gang at the local drive-In theater with my mom, sister, and best friend Brian.:) |
Barney was the best
It is hard seeing the TV stars that were on when I was a kid go. Don Knotts was one of the best. I loved the episodes with Ernest T. Bass (Howard Morris). When they mixed it up it was just hilarious. Don Knotts was a comic genious the likes of which we will never see again. Comedy for the masses that my 6 and 9 year olds can watch. Here's to you Don! I hope you can see how much you will be missed, and what an impact you had on TV comedy.:)
