Dam. Paypal.
Ok. So I *never* ever bother with PayPal. This ONE time I bought something and I paid with my credit card via PayPal (not the checking account method THANK GOD).
My question is this. The seller in the auction title says that they are the "Originals" and NOT copies... Turns out they are not only copies, but BAD copies. The seller is willing to take them back but only if I ship them back to him at my expense. HE is the one who lied and said they were originals (a blind Smurf could see they are copies and totally have ZERO value). Is disputing this transaction the same as it is with other transactions where you don't get what you ordered? How's it work in this case? Thanks for reading, Pete |
Fairly cut and dry - login to PayPal and go to the resoloution center tab. Make your complaint - be exact on what you want e.g. 100% money back and seller pays return shipping (have him send you a prepaid shipping label). Bottom line - say exactly what you want to happen. I have never had Pay Pal let me down at resoloution center, but I have always had my facts straight.

Thanks TX. I'll give them a try.

How is this paypals fault?

If PayPal doesn't side with you, call your CC and have them initiate a chargeback. Generally this must be done within 90 days of the purchase; call your credit card and ask what their policy is, but as other said, try the PayPal resolution route first.

I'm working on a resolution myself right now.
Bought five items from one seller. They are all used items ("surplus"). The shipping charges were more than the cost of the items. One item, a set of metric sockets, 3/4" drive: Seller ships a set of USS sockets, 3/4" drive. Second item, a 12V winch, used but in "good operating condition". Item has been thoroughly trashed. The spool release breaks off in my hand, the very first time I attempt to release the spool. Seller ignores all e-mail. Dispute initiated with Paypal. Simultaneous disupute initiated with American Express. We'll see what happens. |
