I went to DC for the first time in my life a couple months ago and ducked into the Archives to get out of the cold but it turned out to be the most moving part of my visits to our landmarks. Standing in front of the Bill of Rights and Constitution really changed me they are not a bunch of old pieces of paper and videos that the Archives preserves and safeguards for our children to see. I have been learning from the films posted on video.google.

Moon rocks.

Some family photos and edicts from Pol Pot's reign in Cambodia.

Pictures of Boris Yeltsyn stopping an army coup.

Piece of the Berlin Wall.

Tienimen Square Massacre and a clip of the tank guy.

British defeat of the Argentinian military dictatorship.

A series on famous French documents of surrender.

But none of those are American exept the rocks, and those appear to be in question.

Only by complete f**king idiots, and who cares about them?

If you look closely at the Berlin Wall you may notice that there were lots of British, French, and American soldiers names and graffitti scrawled on our side of the Wall. The fall of the USSR was directly attributable to sustained US military and economic power. Reagan saw to it that we publicly supplied the British attack on the Falklands with anything they asked for. The demonstrators at Tienemen Square built a Statue of Liberty, copied from our French version in NYC.

Pol Pot came about because of our defeat in Vietnam.

The French do for themselves without our help.

You talkin to me? What politics are you speaking of here? Read my post, I was asking what American things could be archived from the last 35 years since the seventies. I was inquiring about Bot's contributions and I understand his point's now. And yes, I believe we did go to the moon. Read and comprehend first before you get nasty, then go take a hike if you don't like it.

I agree. Good stuf MM. Thanks.

I'd add a picture my dad took in VietNam. I think it says a lot.

(Sorry 450, I know it's a couple of years out of your 35 range.)

OK 450 non political things to add, the Hubble Telescope archives, Space Shuttle Missions, Mars missions, medical advancements.

And much more but remember that history is not very exciting during a persons life time, my daughter will be much more interested in the period of history during my teenage years than her own.
