Saw MB CLS65

I was in the UK this week and we went to a restaurant. In the parking lot was a brand new two door CLS65 V12 Biturbo. 604 HP and gorgeous.

I'm a diesel driver but wow. The plates were 48 PM so the owner was a member of Parliament.

I saw a four door CLS when I picked up some parts at my local FL MB Dealer, but the CLS65 made the 4 door at the dealer look like a chevy.

I'm not usually taken by a pretty face but this car was exceptional. Just had to tell the world. No clue what it costs, but I guess around $200k

I saw one in Chelsea just off King's Road a couple weeks ago and another one off the Brompton Road just down a bit from Harrod's, I think the glammed-up chick driving it was about 19... It seems the "regular" CLS350 are dime a dozen in London. Of course it's fairly normal to see brand new Lamborghinis and Ferraris parked on the street, but that's another story for another time.

Those things are NICE.

Here in LA I see about 2-3 exotics every day. Just this morning a Maserati Quattrporte flew by us on the freeway and later a Continental GT all in our 20 minute drive. Strangely no CLS65's.... are they US legal?

Funny about the Continental GT. I have seen many in the UK and here in the States they are special.

I have no clue if they are legal yet.

Ugh I don't think their is a such thing as a CLS65? The CLS63 AMG is due out soon. Currantly their is a CLS350/500/55, afaik.

The CLS is also a 4 door, bassed on the W211. I don't think the V12 would fit, they never used the V12 in the W211.

Was it a CL65? The S class based couple?

The Continental GT's are rather common in the Downtown LA area more so than AMG SL's or CL's I see them in the handicapped spots during lunchtime. I see one a day usually. Usually anthracite....or it may be the same person!

Murcielagos look nice in Yellow, the Gallardos do too. Surprisingly the Diablo looks cool in dark blue/purple not as striking as yellow but it still turns a lot of heads when you drive it.

I lived in downtown Chicago last summer and I saw about 10 GT's a day. So many that I stopped even looking twice. Now the Rolls Royce Phantom... THAT is a headturner.

I went back and re-read my post, perhaps I posted too quickly. Didn't notice he said 2-door. Nope, the ones I saw were definitely 4-door (does the CLS come in 2-door?). Also, I don't know what designation they were, but they were definitely AMG with a CLS and then a 2-digit number. Definitely stood out from the standard CLS350, but since they whizzed by in a flash, the only thing I looked for was the AMG badge and 2-digit number.

Is there such a thing as a V-12 2-door CLS? Now that would truly be unique...

You sure it wasn't a CL55?

Well if it was a CLS its what MB calls a 4 door coupe.

According to MB this is whats avalible:
http://www.mercedes-benz.ie/amw/emb/ie/0,,0-835-510633-1-537332-1-0-0-0-0-0-9800-221681-0-0-0-0-0-0-0,00.html

I suspect he saw a CLS55 AMG.

When the prices come down I can see myself getting a 4-5 year old one.

I'd be happy with a CLS500, although the 500hp AMG version is tempting...

The interiors are pretty nice, almost British in feel.

Guys, it clearly read CLS65 and on the side fender V12 and it was a two door. I did not have any drinks for lunch.

If I had a camera I would have taken a pix.
