Any furnace repairmen...?????

Any do furnace repair or know of a good website so I can troubleshoot one?

I have gas-forced air furnace. I can hear it kick on and then it makes a little louder bang and then quiets a little then starts throwing heat. It will then quiet a little more then kick back on and blow more heat. It still works but it has been sounding funny lately.

I was just wondering about the website because I found a really cool one to fix major household appliances. I fixed my clothes drier last time for $25 bucks. I tore it apart myself and saved a buch of $$$$.

While you are getting it fixed get a new programable thermostat installed. Apparently they save a bundle. If your furnace is over 15 years old it would probably pay to get a new one. The burners and plenum chamber rust out after a while.

I don't think it is quite that old. I went down to take another look and it has an LED light that will flash a trouble code. I dismantled and cleaned the flame sensor and replaced a REALLY dirty filter.

Good as new.

I'd guess that your blower/limit switch went bad. It's supposed to start the blower when the heat exchanger gets to a one set temperature, and cut the gas when it gets to a higher set temperature. These fail somewhat often, cost about $30 or so, and are very easy to replace.

Oops, sorry, somehow I missed the last entry!
