Got to be big bucks. Any of these birds you’ve checked out have that info?

I recommend keeping it simple. The 675 Caravan ( Amphibian ) is near perfect for your needs. It can go just about anywhere. No “crew” required. No massive spares kit required. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Hauls 4-wheelers and camping gear. It’s pretty quiet (compared to a C130, for sure). You can fix most of its issues yourself. You can fish from it (no need for a boat). One fill-up for a C130 will keep a 675 airborne for a long long long time. And the neighbors wont get quit as pissed off when you taxi it up the street.

On another note: I'll have to see how the phrase "Koo Koo ka Choo to you " goes over on the radio this morning when Jennifer flys back in from Chicago. ....."Aaaa.....What?!?!?!"
We fly a Cessna 185 amphib. Because of weight restrictions it's down to the pilot and me and some equipment. I like that plane. Slow, we can putter along at 100 kts at 150 ft for observation. It lands on a water or land. The pilot knows every mom-n-pop airstrip on the Gulf Coast and he makes a point of refueling at those little guys. On occasion he's let me fly it which convinced me that I should never be a pilot--my attention to detail organ is vestigial. Sometimes I can't believe I get paid for this job.

Where we fly (parallel to the Gulf coast mostly in LA & TX) and the altitude we fly at makes us hyper-aware of helicopters. They can be a ***** to see. But I like the USCG helicopters. You can always see them.

PS I lost equilibrium on one of those mofos during a 14 hr flight. I'd have confessed to being OBL to get off of that vibrating rattle-trap.
They can be insulated and have a nice ride, I did ride in one of those it rode like a big ass King Air. Could you imagine the potential of having one of those? That would be one hell of a recreational vehicle. Engine trouble? If you lose one continue with the flight if you lose two dump some gas and land, lose 3 and dump the Suburban lose 4.....jump.

I'll give you payload. We carried two big articulating buggies and miles of copper cable. I think it was near 90,000#.

Also, sitting on the bench in the cabin was a much better ride than in that cavernous resonating echo-chamber. Ride like a paint can at Home Depot.

They removed the top gear videos from google video.

I went on to go look for the video of the Enzo, and it is now all gone. I hope we didn't mess a good thing up.
