Now their is a problem I can't say I have had before.:D

We did something similar with flying fish off the coast. Flying fish are attracted to the bright lights at night we shined a flashlight on the hull of the boat and they'll smack into the hull, get disoriented and then swim off. :)

Oldie but a goodie, Hatt. Do you have sea robins that far north? Every few years we will get them thick in the Chesapeake Bay. Better wear a shirt when you are on the Hobie Cat when those things are thick--they have armour on their heads!!

Another was when I was about 12 and saling in a dink with a friend's veteranarian father. Spanish were sailing through the air and one smacked him in the chest. He said that was very odd for Spanish and "don't look down." Of course I did and it was about a 13 foot tiger shark under the 10 ft. dink:eek:

I figured sea robins probably did something like that. They kind of have wings.

Up here they stick mostly to the bottom.

When they get flighty, we take turns batting them with boat paddles for beer chugs:D

I have always thought many of the Kona style bird teasers were based on sea robins, but have never tested the theory with live ones because they are hard to catch and they wouldn't troll true.

We've had mullet come aboard. They generally departed with a hook in their chops and wound up inside a shark shortly afterwards.
