Funny story....

So I'm tossing around the idea of getting a BMW for a daily driver if my Soob ever dies. I found a BMW forum and sign up.
It doesn't really surprise me how laim the site is. I mean it is nicely laid out and semi-informative but the members are out there. I ask a simple question about reliablity issues and what to look for and what to stay away from within a particular model. All I get back is how much leg room the cars have and how the v12 is bigger than a v8. There are practically no real DIYers there.
Anyway, they actually have a section called "kill stories" where you post how your Bimmer blew away someone else's POS. I start a stupid/funny thread about racing a kid on a bicycle in the neighborhood with my 300SD. (we all know this is funny because SD's are typically slow)
So a few people reply and are basically pissed and very unamused.
They locked the thread!!!!!!!!!!

Just thought that was funny.

Same as the G35driver.com. Most owners are between high school (with rich parents) age and late 20's. All they care is mod and race. When ask a question on how to fix things, slience.

Got to be bimmerforums Owning a BMW I have registered over there. Only problem with their search feature is when locating the item of interest, you have to go through 1,000 threads that tell you to do a search
You are correct, there are not to many people interested in car preservation or DIY.

I have found a very good DIY for the various models at http://www.bimmerdiy.com/e30 Hopefully you can find this usefull - no BS just information.
Think I have my "E's" and "M's" figured out now
