What is happiness?

Happiness is part of the founding documents of the USA. Happiness is both simple and very complex, and obviously extremely important from a developmental perspective for both an individual and a nation.

I came across this article and found it very intriguing. The article describes a wide variety of elements related to happiness and offers different perceptions of happiness.

Look at the article if you will, but weather you do or don’t answer this question: What is happiness?

To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!

If you learn to love everything and everyone around you, you will have discovered the ultimate meaning of happiness. It's just that simple.

Sitting on the back deck of a nice sport fish anchored for lunch, on a 75 degree day without a cloud in the sky and no wind. Good food, good friends, no worries.

Enjoy the simple things in life.

Forget about happiness. You don't have a prayer (to the man who hates everything).

When Charles deGaulle decided to retire from public life, the American ambassador and his wife threw a gala dinner party in his honor. At the dinner table the Ambassador's wife was talking with Madame de Gaulle.

"Your husband has been such a prominent public figure, such a presence on the French and International scene for so many years! How quiet retirement will seem in comparison. What are you most looking forward to in these retirement years?"

"A penis," replied Madame de Gaulle.

A huge hush fell over the table. Everyone heard her answer . . . and no one knew what to say next.

Finally, Le Grand Charles leaned over to his wife and said, "Ma cherie, I believe zee Americans pronounce zat word 'appiness.'"

At the risk of stating the obvious, happiness is defined on the individual level; the pursuit of which is confined by the limitations of our individual rights as they conflict/intersect with those of another individual.

I am happy shooting my guns. I cannot morally/legally shoot them where ever I want though. My right to pursue happiness through the discharge of firearms ends at the azimuth and elevation Germanstar occupies.

If you're suggesting that one should not haphazardly ejaculate their happiness upon others, I concur.

HA!

Best line ever. Along with -

""No one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts. [Points to sword.] But this... this you can trust."

When my son is old enough, he's getting that line. I'll substitute a Benz for the sword, though.

I don't pray. Also, I don't hate everything. I am a pessimist.
