Question What's your style of humor?

Seems there's been a movement to squash some of the more lengthly and otherwise pointless threads here. In light of that, I thought maybe we could open up a discussion on "what do you find funny?".
I have to deal with a lot of stress at work, as do many of you I'm sure. Everything has to be "serious"(I can't spell), or you're not doing your job. And there's alot of nasty stuff going on in the world right now.
So I not only come here to gain and share info on how to take care of my Benz, but I enjoy knocking around some trivial humor here in the "open Forum". It helps me to de-stress. I realize my sense of humor is probably irratating, and down right obnoxous to alot here. But there seems to be a few others here that at least tolerate it, and we have some fun.
So, 'nuff said.
I like the Marx brothers and about 75% of jim Carey's movies. That should tell you something.

You don't see a put-down towards tkamiya in this statement? I guess I don't understand some things. You may see this as "being honest", and meant no harm in it. I appologize if that's where it was meant to go. I saw it as a personal thing towards him.
Maybe I need to re-evaluate MY sense of humor.

Alright. I'm sorry I took offense when there was no offense. But I was looking for more interaction about what you find funny. You know, movies, comedians, ect. What makes you laugh. It just seemed to be more finger pointing, but I guess i took it wrong.
Like you said Tank, it's sometimes hard to read the real meaning in just written words when you can't see the twinkle in someones eye as they say something. I think THAT has been the root of most of the disaggreements in this forum.

I like Peter Sellers movies (the Pink Panther series)

I actually laughed out loud watching "Ice Age". There is some good humor in that cartoon/movie. I watched it with my 20 year old son, and he's more of the Beavis-n-Butthead humor type, and he was cracking up right along with me.
(And yah, I do NEED to get out more!)

The Three Stooges. Got the munchkins watching them with me (wife doesn't understand them).

Monty Python's Flying Circus.

As stated earlier, Rocky & Bullwinkle.

SpongeBob Squarepants - thanks kids. Lots of grown-up humor and plenty of references to Tejas.

Loved Slingblade, couldn't stand Austin Powers 1 until last year (I guess I finally had time to watch the whole thing, now it is funny).

I can deadpan it big time, so much so that my boss double dissed me by claiming on one hand that I didn't have a sense of humor, then on the other saying no one could tell when I was joking or not. Truth is I find humor in and joke about anything/everthing, even death (defense mechanism????).

Someday I'll have to tell y'all about one of my troops who damn near died on me while we were detailed to the Texas Gulf Coast. Anaphalactic shock due to a seafood reaction. Nevermind I warned him to go easy on the seafood, he just knew better and 15 minutes after chow he was ballooning up and having difficulty breathing. I laughed all the way to the hospital, tears and all. To this day when I tell the story it still makes me laugh.

Yea, I'm a sick b*****rd.

Depends..Did you laugh thinking he was going to die?
Oh yea!!!

Picture this, Southern tip of South Padre Island, just leaving the restaurant when dufuss proclaims "my lips feel funny". We get in the van, me driving, and before we can get to the causeway he is ballooning big time, his lips looked like the fat lip scene from Eddy Murphy's "Nutty Professor".

Anyone who knows the causeway coming off S. Padre knows it climbs and turns at the same time. Now I'm laughing so hard I'm crying. The harder I laugh the faster I drive and the more I tear up, causing my eyes to slam shut. We make it across the causeway without crashing, so now I'm laughing even harder, one of my passengers has started taking pictures, so the laughing continues.

I was driving well over 100 mph, trying to get this guy to the hospital in Brownsville, something like 35 miles away, just laughing my a$$ off. There is no way I would have been able to convince a trooper that I hadn't been drinking if we'd have been stopped (truth is I only had Coke with chow, no alcohol at all that day).

Best part was, once we get him to the hospital, the lead nurse comes out to triage him, takes one look at him and she's laughing hard enough to draw tears too!!!

Durn tooting I was laughing at him.
