Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends. And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal." I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today! I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of "interposition" and "nullification" -- one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today! I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; "and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together."² This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

The contents of her speech are true...I have no problems with it...my only problem is with the negatively reflected in her words...my problem is with the fact that a seven-year-old child can only look into the past, but show no optimism into the future...
Please read her poem then compare it to a passage from Martin Luther King's speech...notice the contrast? Isn't it hope, optimism, and tolerance that we should be handing down to our children, whether they be black, white, yellow, or brown?

I believe there are being raised among us civil warriors. That is what is wrong with the lyrics; The attitude they create. It is one of retribution leveled on the shoulders of those who are personally innocent. The same is true for the Gaede twins. These are representatives of a greater festering infection found subcutaneously.
We may all be dead and buried when it happens, but it will happen if this sort of thing persists. Divided, we fall. |

THey should apply the same laws against those fools that they do towards the Aryan brotherhood and the KKKK.
A hate crime is a hate crime irregardless of what color their skin may be.

Such things are intended to cause division. The animosity in the words is VERY obvious, even if the racism is not obvious to some. Such things are NEVER good for race relations, no matter which race they are coming from. Mike

I saw essentially the same type of story about two sisters that were singing too the “White Supremest” groups, and when you see pictures of Klan meetings they'll always be pictures of little kids all dressed up in the garb.
It's almost natural though don't you think? I mean, bigots and haters of every stripe tend to be weak minded bullies, and picking on the kids to listen to their drivel is just what you'd expect. It is surprising that there isn't more of this that comes from the Black or Native American communities rather than the Whites. We've got our own little paramilitary nut around here. Glenn Spencer and the “American Border Patrol”. Their “operations” in my little area is going to get somebody shot. Feelings about this kook are getting very hostile – news to follow.
