Angry Is gas getting just a little expensive these past few weeks?

Wow...I am seeing $1.05CAD/Litre...that would be around $3.47US/gallon I think...

$1.05CAD/Litre * $0.86US/$1CAD * 1Litre/0.26gallon ~ $3.47US/gallon

My low fuel light has been on the past few days...I was waiting for a break...but it is just not happening...damn it...

Crank-up those tar sands you guys are sitting on. Somebody is going to figure-out how to (inexpensively) get those hydrocarbons free of the matrix and turn the oil economy upside down.

Fuel in Hong Kong is still $7.00 a gallon right? So think of the fuel in BC as a 50% discount

It does not matter if gas is $0.50/L or $1.50/L it doesn't make a damn difference to me. I will still drive the same amount.

I don't pay to much attention anymore, I think diesel is up to $2.7? in my area. I just fill and drive. Whatever gotta get to school and work.

Complaining about fuel is like complaining about taxes and the weather, what good does it do?

That is exactly right. Gas is actually really cheap if you think of it this way....

What other product in the world sells for less than it's full market value? Did I buy gas when it was $3.39? You bet, and so did most everyone else. They could charge $7.00 a gallon here (bastards!) and people would still buy it. Thank your lucky stars they don't.

I had always heard that deisel is a by-product of the gas making process. Could be wrong.

But I think much less of it is actually made, hence the higher price. Quantity vs.demand sort of thing.

I don't buy diesel fuel for my diesel M-B.
When it runs low on fuel, I mix up a batch of UCO.

For 21.1 gallons, I add 6-8 oz of Powerservice Cetane Boost; 5 oz of Acetone;
4 oz of Startron Diesel additive; maybe 3 gallons of RUG; and top it off with filtered settled UCO from SushiYama.

Total US cost about $8.50 and it goes for another 400miles....

Oh, I figured you were from HK since you mentioned the Peak Cafe....not too many people know about that place. Yes car taxes used to be nearly 2x out the door for any vehicle due to a car engine displacement over 2 liters. I sure wouldn't want to pay $50K for Camry! Public transportation is much better over there anyhow.
