OT: Need appliance help - range/cooktop

Let's take a break from politics on this Mercedes Board with some Appliance talk. It's all somehow related!

We have a Kitchenaid slide-in electric cook-top / oven.
Every once in a while, the electronic screen will show either "F2" or "F3", accompanied with beeping from the warning beeper. This only happens with the oven. When this happens, the oven seems to heat slowly.
I have pulled the thing apart and tightened all the connections. Nothing appears to be faulty.

Anybody have a clue what prompts the F2 or F3 warning?

It is a Kitchenaid Model KEDT105VMH, Serial number XX3901853.

And if I need parts, anybody here sell them? Cheap of course - I have to pay for all these cars somehow.

I guess I have to learn better search descriptions - I spent at least an hour last night looking through every "hit" and did not find this.

THANKS!

'Googling' is much more of a Black Art than a Science.

Glad I could help, and I hope it's a fuse, not a keypad...

And if it is, make sure to check if it's still under warranty. The fan motor in my Maytag freezer died a month or so ago and though the fridge was bought by the previous owner, Maytag still had a record of the sale and was able to advise me of warranty info. Unfortunately, only major parts are covered.

Net result: $235 for a replacement motor including labor.

I know it's not a fuse - it usually works.
I'm going to take it all apart, clean the circuit board, and clean and re-tighten all the connections.
I looked up the pad - ouch. Then I looked up anew oven - bigger ouch.

Any of you guys heard of American Home Shield?

http://www.ahswarranty.com/

Premiums are around $45/month and the deductible is $45 for ANY and all calls. Covers all major appliances.

I've had expensive A/C issues (two units), a fridge that went south, and a dryer that died of old age. Repair/replacement would have been in the thousands of $$ by now, so it has paid for itself in less than a year!

Even if you can fix the problem yourself, it's just cheaper to have an expert come by and fix it for $45!

I went in and retightened all connections. The f2 and f3 code both related to the temperature, so I disconnected and reconnected the plug a few times. It's been a few days and no more alarms. Hopefully it was simply a corroded connection.
