How do I go about this?

To make a long story short...met up with a "new" friend back in Oct 05...never went really well..when We got along well it was good but several arguments later I decided 2 wks ago to call it quits with this person. Don't have time or patients for un-needed stress. At first he didnt get it and kept trying to be my friend again...then decided NO aswell and told me on top of that my opinion of me.

Says im unhappy with my life and will only be happy if I continue supporting our economy with material things such as the Benz, ipod, flashy cell phone etc..whcih of course I bought myself! Im 23 and like my gadgets and dont base my life on it (not all the time). I smell jealousy?

This "freind" also a few months ago got kicked out from home and I concluded it was from his rotten and cruel attitude that is hidden in him and likes to come out often.

So far several insulting emails were sent from him and in the last 3 weeks it was nice and quiet in my email inbox and cell phone. Then today I guess he decides to rolling the wheel again and sends insulting emails and text messages again....like something somebody would do back in gr 9.

I had enough of it all but really want to scare him now to stop but dont know what to do.

I almost felt like getting into the car and driving to his store where he works and just ripping his hair out but I somehow stopped myself.

What woudl u guys do?

Are you sure this guy's mentally stable? If he's not you may want to think twice about retaliation.

Do nothing. He's trying to provoke a reaction. Don't give him the satisfaction of a response and he'll go away sooner or later (unless he's a psychotic stalker-killer, of course).

I suppose the answer is either someone with some problems or someone who really likes that chemically happy feeling!

Do yourself a favor, change your phone number and email address, and keep a low profile. People who "use" might be looking for a easy source of $$$ to support their habit. Keep an eye on your credit report and bank account.

Hmm something to think about.

As far as the banking I doubt he would do it, stalking would be more of an issue.

Yeah I'd cut all ties and fast. I knew a handfull of people back in school, I wouldn't say I was friends with them but friendly. We ate lunch together often, hung out a bit ect. Well they are losers going no where fast and not really the kind of people that you want to hang around. I'm nice to them but I cut the ties so to speak.

So...

I would add this wacko's e-mail address to my junk folder so I do not even have to see his mails again.....get a new phone # and forward your old phone to another # with VM or an answering machine, start recording. Go down to the local police department and make a report about this kook, get it on file.
Go out and get a pair of leather driving gloves..(one size too small) this will come into play later.

Now If he shows up at your home and you have to hack his head off with a dull hacksaw blade or something then at least you can go the self defense route OR leave those gloves at the scene and go golf or something. Remember, if the gloves don't fit, you must acquit ! ...

This sounds good especially the last part!

I had the same thing happen to me. Getting drunk everyday and being a punk gets old really quick. In the end, they were nothing more than drinking buddies, and drinking gets old, quick. I remember they used to make these huge chains from the pull tabs on beer cans and hang them all over the living room.

Oh Lord........

When I first read your post, I though to myself:
Oh Lord - Here we go again with another break-up thread full of one sided advice and lawyers calling each other ’Sparky” and then at about the 140th post you come back and claim you two are best friends but the thread will continue into something about what makes a great friends while some people post it has nothing to do really with actual friendship at all and who should be responsible for the friendship and then finally fizzle out at about 300 posts the last 200 or so of which have little to do with you and your now best friend...

Actually -
Good stuff here so far. Go the do nothing route. No satisfaction will usually get this type to leave you alone the quickest.

Pull tab chains…haven’t seen one of those in about 30 years. Never was into that, but know what you mean about “friends” who were. Thanks for the memories. Glad now, that’s all they are.
