I have never wanted sex badly enough to part with greenbacks for it...push comes to shove, that's what my hand is for. I used to wonder why the song, House of the Rising Sun, had the lyric about it being "the ruin of many a poor boy." At first I thought it was because it was originally written from a woman's POV, and women do sing it: "and it's been the ruin of many a poor girl..." and they just changed it so it would make sense with a man singing it.

Now I think it can ruin a man too. You waste your time, money, and your sexual energy on stuff that will go nowhere, guaranteed.

Wow man, that's like, poetry or something Isn't this kind of how all laws work? Er, trust me when I tell you I get to see evidence of a lot of prostitution--but not in my tree-lined, two college, fenced in neighborhood.

No need to get cliche about Amsterdam. I have two high school buds that live in a houseboat on the Amstel river--used to get there a good bit. Most of the people I know in Amsterdam either moved there because of the laws or are proud to live in such a liberal, hands off manner. Almost none of them ever spend time in the Rossebuurt either. My point is that while Amsterdam is a beautiful city, the red light district, along with the heroin addicts, AIDS patients and other crap that walks around in the open there is not evidence that 'legalizing' or tolerating works. You can't own a handgun in Amsterdam, think that has anything to do with lack of street crime? Ever check the bike stealing statistics? They don't arrest people for selling pot (too often) there, you think that means the trade doesn't flourish? How about the Smart shops? Ever been to one of them on one of your many trips? And on, and on, and on......

Never tried their services, but read articles on the "escort/prostitution" phenomenon in Vancouver...some of them appear to be decent ladies...trying to pay their way through university/school...others are trying to raise kids...then there is the other side of the tracks, where some ladies just need the cash for drugs and alcohol...

Well, we prostitute ourselves daily. It is just a job. The difference between me and a hooker is that we trade different things for money. I work at McDs and ask "Would you like fries with that?" because they are paying me money. She works on the street or as a call girl and gives you sex for money. Different commodity but for the same reasons.
