Do you..Love them or Hate them.

Hot Tubs! I don't think there is any middle ground here you go one way or the other..... sort of like...Cadillacs...

What a mess....

I always try to keep my posts and opinions to a minimum..So I will keep this short..

DO you Like Hot Tubs?

Do they add any...value to the home?

I have this 475 gallon hot tub that I used all the time when I first got it 4 years ago. It is not hard to take care of and I drain and clean it 4 times a year. In the summer I turn it into a Cold Tub I moved it over on he patio and rotated it two years ago. I also have a folding canvas gazebo that I put up over it on hot days in the summer. Well… The bad news is the thing has had a leak for at least the past 2 years. I would notice moist areas along one side but dismissed it as.. Oh it rained a couple of days ago…condensation.. So when I went to refill it a couple of weeks ago I decided to take the sides off and see why there was still moisture after over a week with no rain. It had a leak! And the foam inside was all wet! So I went digging into the foam and found a bad joint. Also all the wood was so rotted it fell apart. So off to the hot tub dealer I go. He tells me: "Yea they leak but the new ones have this great foam that you won't find the leaks for years"
WOW.. I feel so good about that…. A $8,000 dollar top of the line hot tub out of warranty that has leaked for years… So I cover the bad joint with this "SPECIAL EPOXY" Special because it's $12.00 a tube.
Well the new base is treated lumber and the new frame of 2x3's is in. I cleaned everything up and refilled it and I hope I get a couple of more years out of it before it falls apart. So come on over and bring your swim suit and I'll make a pitcher of margaritas

Love 'em! Glad you got yours back into active duty.

Plan to install one in the near future.

My favorite has to be a hot tub on a cold and clear Canadian night in January, when it's -30 C outside and you're soaking in the tub under the stars, beer in hand. Life is good.

Hate em. I have no desire to sit in a warm pool of anyone elses filth.

I use one everytime I'm at the gym. Either that or the sauna.

Actually I'm in the middle ground...the in-laws had a hot tub which went to their son when he bought the house...I can take it or leave it...depends on the day I had...Its like Chinese food...you have to be in the mood...

My thoughts exactly. Maintenance headache, drowning hazard, no thank you. If I was in the market to buy a house, I would deduct from my offer the cost of removing all hot tubs and swimming pools from the premises.

We have this twenty year old hot tub sticking out like a sore thumb in the middle of our back deck. It doesn't work and just sits there bugging the hell out of me. I hate it. Come take it away, please.

Love them, they are fun in the winter. Love jumping out and rolling in the snow then back in! Just be carefull that the tub isn't on a hill, and the snow doesn't have 1in of ice on top...then you go for a ride...that wasn't fun, the air temp was -10.

I love a hot tub, a pool, and a sauna... as long as I don't have to do the maintenance.

R Leo,
We just got up to 90 around here... and that looks just right.

My brother-in-law says it's like sitting in hot butt-hole soup.

Never had that sort of soup. Ask him what it tastes like.

I love it especially if the women were naked. They are all naked and busty and hot but in my dreams.

My neighbors have a hottub on their patio, within view of my upstairs windows...chubby late-50ish people cavorting with their equally chubby/flabby/saggy friends is not a pretty picture...especially when they get drunk and loud in the middle of the night. Yikes
