280TE Value for Insurance
I know what the car is worth to me & there are so few for sale ever, you might see 1 per year up for sale on ebay, Hemmings or Auto Trader. The 280TE especially with manual trans has always been well sought after over the diesel wagons. All I can think to do is use this as a starting point of value. What have other members done to prove car value to insurance company?

if it is a daily driver, you have a bit of a problem. but you will have to start with what you paid for it. and be able to show them others bought for similar prices for similar condition.
if you paid 5000 and want to insure it for 10,000 unless you have fully restored it (or similar) you are going to have a problem. stated value insurance may be a bit easier, but you still wont be able to buy 10k for a car you paid 5k for. otherwise you could just let it burn and collect a cool 5k profit. they dont make money by doing foolish things. tom w
