What a weeK:eek:,
On Monday afternoon when I stopped at Pep Boys to pick up some Zerex coolant I saw a couple white boys (teens) walking through the parking lot. Four black boys (teens) were running toward them. When they got up to them they started beating the crap out of them. I went on into Pep Boys figuring they already knew each other and did not think anything of it. When I was at checkout the white boys come running in there all busted up and saying they were robbed. The cashier had already been on 911 communicating with the emergency folks. Anyway, I inquire as to the direction the four boys went. Knowing the layout of the area I crossed the road accross from the store heading down the road to the ghetto:eek:. I soon caught up with them and stayed about one or two blocks behind them (walking) and whenever they turned off I would ease down to the corner and just keep watching them till they turned again. I had been on the phone to 911 this whole time and followed them all the way home where they walked up on the porch and just kinda started hanging out acting like they were real proud of themselves. I eased on down to the end of the street past the house and parked until the 911 guy said it was cool to get out of there. I floored the 300D and got the heck into a little better looking neighborhood. The 911 operator acknowledged that they were familiar with that address:(. They were like a bunch of animals:eek:. Then on Tuesday we had a guy get shocked by 20kv during a HI POT test on a new electrical circuit:dizzy2:. He was very lucky in the fact that it did not kill him. Wednesday we had a paper machine outage. The machine went down at 7 am and we started back up around 11 pm. Thankfully, Thursday was spent tuning out the tranny vacuum signal on the recently rebuilt 300D which provided somewhat of a calming effect. I have some more tests to run tomorrow. I sold the Honda CRF450R today to a guy from south Alabama that had seen it on ebay. The high bidder never returned my email so I sold it to another guy that had contacted me. He gave me the high bid amount. It only took one concussion for me to figure out that I did not need to be doing that kind of stuff. It was fun while it lasted and I do have the throphies to show for winning the old man beginners class last fall season. I'm seriously looking into buying a Harley for some relief so don't be surprised if you see one in my profile one day. TGIF;) and the beer is cold. |

We have two dogs already...and several cats. I will miss her...she and I are addicted to Law and Order...I htink we have seen just about every episode. Another chapter in our lives comes to an end and a new one is about to be opened... It is all about endings and beginnings, doors closing and other doors opening. I am watching The Lost City again...I do miss my little island |
Sigh..STILL painting the SAME room (as per my previous post last Friday).
Can't really remove the equipment from the room, so I have to paint around, which is very time consuming. My wife will get involved in the "faux" phase this weekend, and if all goes well, I will do touch up and replace everything back to where they should be once again...probably another week to complete. If this thread is active next Friday, I will post pics of the finished project... |
Um, burlesque show this evening with numerous cocktails.
Saturday: Estate sales with the g/f, then perhaps a nap, then dinner at her folks' place (lamb, mmm...) then perhaps a bit of dance and drink. Sunday: Snakes on a Plane... |

Saturday my wife and I took the twins for a drive to Lake Arrowhead. It was absolutely beautiful.
We took a boat cruise around the 14 miles of the lake, and saw all the million dollar houses, the damns, and the history behind the lake. Also saw house that Doris Day lived in all those years. The kids were exhausted when we got home, and slept in until 8 a.m. |

Now, they are all going off in different directions. We did a lot wiht our kids when they were little. Now, however, it seems like we could have done more. Enjoy them...my youngest girl is now packing to go off to college...:bigcry: |

Weekend --
For a good 8 months of the year down here in Da Swamp, every weekend is the same as far as the weather goes: hot and sticky, and possibly rainy, and did I mention hot? So I huddle in the A/C as much as possible and wait for November.
But I do get out: Dolling up the Benz, heading out to breakfast, getting a haircut, browsing the local newsstand; Three short manuscripts to critique for our amateur writers' group before we meet on Monday (I want to sit down and write something new of my own. I have a small file of ideas, but have been lazy this last month); Dinner Saturday night -- now that the C230's sunshade panel is fixed and doesn't rattle on bumpy roads, it's almost like having a new car, and I wouldn't mind driving a bit to a nice restaurant. . |
