Or, if this is some mid-level "bad-management" decision, find the "good" above him and seek some comfort there...if it's not coming, you were probably doomed due to in-breeding (on the management's part), or some "comet-of-misalignment" happened across your path and you were doomed regardless of what you wanted to have happen... :( BTW, at the last X-mas GTG, anything happen that only your barber should have known about? If not, your best bet is to move on...the "stink of unwantedness" is getting a bit too heavy and I'm sure you'll be just as happy a year from now that you're probably one of the first to be out of there and you're not one of those left behind "to pick up the slack" that's definately going to be part of everyone's future workload... Good luck with the next assignment! |
"Happy Thursday to me...
Happy Thursday to me... Happy Thursday to...er...eh...oh!" Never mind... It's 0307 and I just got back from Colfax...heat-exchanger was P L U G G E D ! I back-flushed over 300 gallons (330 to be exact) of water through that thing...brought the coolant temperature down about 41°F. ...- Now, I only have to change to hoses that are 10 feet off the floor and full of DowTherm SR-1 - Oh, the fun never stops! How's the day going for you folks? |
It's rainy and chilly, it looks like a good night to lay on the couch and watch the Sox with the boys. Maybe a fire in the fireplace, a cold beverage and some nuked popcorn. We'll kick the ladies upstairs to watch a girly movie in our room.

I found it!
I bumped it! You fill in the stories! I'm heading for bed...spent "R" in water (cleaning heat-exchangers and air-conditioners) all day long... My wrinkles have wrinkles...gotta' dry out... ;) |
I finally started installing my replacement fence yesterday. I was able to replace the whole section that was damaged in the accident.
I should be able to get another 6-10 posts sunk today (during the kids' nap time:)) and finish the rest tomorrow. The solid board fence I'm replacing the old one with is a big improvement in sound blocking. |
Taking a half-day for a long weekend camping & fishing with missus.
Toes Go In First. |
Nawlins tonight and my chance for fame and riches in the WSOP! I also will abuse my liver slightly.

Geez, what a thing to wake up to! |
Hopefully, getting the SEC ready to pass its re-inspection on Monday. Then I can get started on the fun stuff.
Other than that, just relieving some of the stress that has built up this week. |

I had a separate thread about it but deleted it when I had to deal with insurance cr@p. They only gave me enough for materials and I'm installing it myself. I was actually in my kitchen with my kids when I heard a loud boom. I heard no skidding so I was very surprised to see a truck in my front yard. It splintered a 50 ft. section of the fence and busted the posts off about 4" below ground. I found pieces of the alloy wheels and fence bits in the flower beds by my house windows about 30-40 ft from the accident site. Anyway ... the new fence is looking great and once the inspector signs off on it, I'll be sinking a row of metal posts behind it to slow down any future vehicular yard invaders.:D |

I'd be careful with the metal posts thing...we had our mailbox knocked down/run over multiple times and threatened to put up a concrete filled "milk can" with a metal post centered in it and a few metal posts on both sides. The cop told us it was illegal and in most cases, you'd be held liable for any resulting injuries...he said to "...just let it go. Some folks are lucky with their mailboxes, others lose them weekly." We ended up putting it on the other side of the driveway...cut down on the hits by a factor of 10...should have figured that one out ALOT sooner... I'd check with the local LEOs first before sinking the metal posts...you don't want to put your family's financial freedom at stake...also, your insurance company (alot of help they are!) might want to get a little hinky with you... Otherwise, see if the municipality can put in rumble-strips (noise might be a factor) or even a speed-bump or three... Or, better yet...a guard-rail, like you see along the highway...but then, again, the looks of THAT against your fence... But, it beats having an family-sized vehicle in your family-room! |
