I was a kid in that era and had seen one of these in a parade in Ann Arbor, MI. There were CD drills for Nuclear War back in those days, early and mid-50's. I believe that I actually heard one of these Victory Sirens, during one of these drills, testing it's effectiveness. One air-raid siren for the whole city, I think was the idea. I didn't know what a HEMI, was in those days, I was just a Kid.

I wish they had a small version of that for a car. I am looking for the most obnoxious horn ever made that I can carry to get the driver in front of me to wet his/her pants when they are dithering as to what a green light means.

well I don't suppose anybody will be blowing the "Victory Horn" anytime soon.
During the Cuban missle crisis in the 60's we had air raid drills every week in school and every Saturday. I can still hear that thing. |

Cut off by other driver....Start HEMI....Rev HEMI....Horn begins to wail 15 seconds later. Yep...the finger is much faster.

im looking for an old air raid siren actually.. airraidsirens.com has an ok forum but the sound clips they have are neat. i found the exact model my town in wolcott ct had.. i miss that sound... i soo want a fallout shelter sign.. im hopefully getting a working siren from a 1940's fire truck.. i cant wait for it
