Car insurance for older cars

Currently, I have been using Esurance for all of my car insurance for the past three years. So far I have been pleased with them, but then I have not had any claims and car insurance is not a product that you want to go out to ‘test’. My only concern with Esurance is that when a vehicle is added to a policy it must be no more than 25 years old. I just got in ‘under the wire’ with my 1981 300D. I am kind of in the market for a Ponton and if I to find one it would be something that I would drive in nice weather. I am not necessarily opposed to having more than one car insurance carrier, but I thought that it might be nice to have one. I also realize that insurance laws are different from state to state. (I live in Ohio.) My question boils down to what insurance carrier do you use for older cars?

Hagerty's is fine but last I knew had a $5000 minumum value.

http://www.americancollectorsins.com/default.htm

I have 3 cars on them and pay about $120/yr for all 3 together.

I use these guys- no experience yet except they take my money just fine (like all the rest of the worthless insurance companies).

IIRC, Haggerty won't insure four doors as collectibles. they may have other policies available I don't know about, though. I use them for my MGB GT. Great deal and good service, but there are other services.

I have Horace Mann for my home, and my parents/sisters autos. They are for educators, so it is a nice, inexpensive insurance company that has excellent coverages.

But for my car, I insure with farmers. I am an agent in training, so I get a nice lil discount. And for your older cars, farmers will insure anything. I have a client with a Finny, and for full coverage, including comp and collision, it is fairly inexpensive. Not only that, but if it is a classic, we an assign it a value so that if it gets stolen, or god forbid wrecked, you will get the agreed value of the car. Nice to have on older cars that may be a rare find, but are inexpensive when you find them.

FYI my current premium is $635 for six moths for the following:
1999 E300 - full coverage
1995 Chevy S-10 (port injected 4.3 with manual) - liability
1985 300D - liability
1981 300D - liability

This coverage is for my wife and myself and a new teenage driver. Cost wise it do not think it is too bad.

Yep, you old ppl.....

I pay that in 3 months

BUT, if I go 5 years without crashing, I get 1/2 of my cash back (like that will happen.... who knows?)
