All right so I have been trolling through this forum while I was finishing up my AMG. The new owner has completed the transaction so I thought I would show what I picked up to cruise back and forth to work

Street legal...Check
Heater...Check
Radio...Natch

My AMG was FAR faster 0-60 and top speed. This car is really strong on a track/autocross/canyon. Hella loud though

Is that a Gold or Rabbit? Congrats, looks like a nice car. Pretty close to SCCA spec, just add roll cage?

Rabbit, and I gotta grab the latest rulebook to see, I have the cage in my garage(powdercoat and weld is what it needs) so that will be done up. I think the class it would run in would be WAY over its head because it has some engine work(135 to the wheels-1700#s) that ruins it for ITB...or so I've been told. Great for Auto-X though

I went and test drove new Rabbits/GTIs but fell in with what I know again. This is #16 for me

Not bad. I am picking up an '84 GTi this weekend to turn into an autocross toy...

Where in Chicago are you located?

The AMG'd W126 was better. What did AMG do to it? I see it still had DOT lights and wipers, yet Euro bumpers. Nice body kit and wheels.

That VW will probably be a blast in the snow!

Its a US spec AMG 560... the US spec bumper was damaged and being that US spec AMG spoilers are much more difficult to find than the 1st gen Euro one's, they opted to replace the bumper with what you see. Only the front is Euro(1st gen). Still a nice car... a rare one on top of it.

Never stopped, member over there since 2000. I still have a few MBs but the AMG was not destined to be part of my stable. I bought it KNOWING that when it was back to how it should look it would go to another caring owner. I'm sure it will change hands again in the near future, but it really is a beautiful great running car.

If you look at the numbers it is rather rare. MB was switching over to the W140 in 1991 so around +2K W126 SELs came off the line for world delivery...how many were touched by AMG?
