Sec 500 1986

My Mercedes sec 500 1986 model was parked in a garage and not moved or started for nearly 2 years. After i serviced the car it is again in a very good condition and runs very well. The only problem is that i hear some continous tiking (tik tik tik...).Please let me know your opinion of how to fix it as i am in Egypt and far away from a Mercedes Garage.

Thanks
Savvas

Hey, sounds like a lifter has partially collapsed. Mercedes lifters are different then pushrod type lifters, though they still compensate for play in the valve train using a combination of spring and oil pressure tension. It may correct itself over time. You might try moving this question to the Technical Help section to get some more responses, and more techs hang out there to answer questions like this. Welcome to the forum by the way.
