i am really intrested on buying a car since my 300e is acting up on me do you guys think that its a good car for me the car looks wonderful but when the guy took a picture of the milage of the car ive seen the temp over 80 is that a normal thing when a car idle. and is this car worth the price it also has amg wheel meet performance and luxury those wheels are lighter than stock and stronger too more performance and handling

Justin,I just found this cool S600 on Ebay (Green over Grey) with 69,000 miles for 17 grand.The paint did not look original though,but the car looked spectacular from the interior.My next car has to meet very high standards (as you can see from my 1998 S500).The outside and inside must look as if the car has been treated how a $100,000+ car should look like.Some guy told me that the body style was outdated and that he would take it for cheap.My response was that he needs to do his research and all the diplomats still drive around in W140's and W126.One thing that is true,is that this car is really something else.You will not find a W140 in this condition,and with as loving as an owners as me and my son.

.This car has a spotless interior,near perfect exterior(no scratches,no dents).The paint is extremely smooth and the color is a metallic black so it is not flat and it shines always.One thing that annoys me is that people do not understand things about these cars.Even though I am asking how much I am (18,500 without rims,$19,000 with rims)you will not come by a W140 in this condition.The carfax is spotless,only 8 records.Another 1998 S500 on ebay with the same amount of miles (and the owner reported no accidents,no flood,and a clean title)it had 32 records.

Thats cheap for that S500. My dad and I have been looking around for a perfect W140 S-Class for a year now. The last one we looked at was a 1999 S320 with 65,000 miles. It was in the same shape as yours, but has the stock Mercedes Rims. The owner (private party) wanted 24,000 for it. The other one we looked at was a 1998 S500 in almost the same condition as yours. The front lip of that car had been repainted, as it had the orangepeel look to it. That guy wanted just over 25,000 for it. So yours is an awesome deal for that price...

Did the owner admit to having the bumper repainted?Because its better that atleast he admitted it,rather than lie about it.Still,I wouldnt buy a car of that age if it had any part of it painted.I dont even use touch-up paint on my car,just some Meguiars Scratch-X and your good to go.As for an S600,they are soo hard to come by.I want one between 97-99 in black,white or green.

Also,on that E500,the headliner seems to sag alot (I am not familiar with the 500E/E500's maybe that is supposed to be like that),and the S600 grille does not look right to me.
This cars S600 style grille looks proper

I believe that S600 is repainted. Look at the front bumper for example. Note how there is no metal flake in the paint where the front plate was.... Mybe its me, but I think shes been repainted.

Also, note how the lower cladding on the body has no shine to it on the drivers side... Also the lower cladding looks mismatching on the drivers side. The rear cladding doesnt look shiney on the rear cladding....

I would have to see it in real life to confirm, but if it were me I would just pass... Too many things in question on that car.

Yea,I really wasnt interested in this one after they said something was wrong with the A/C.The first thing that caught my eye was the color,mileage and price,but after looking carefully at it,you know somethings wrong.I have located a 1999 S600,but the dealership wants 26,000.If I sell my car,I will need to have a dealership find one.To me,my 1998 S500 is a steal.The amount of time and effort that I put into it to keep it in top-notch shape,was worth it.I really would like to get the S600.

Also,Mark I would hold off on that W124.It looks as if some cheap parts were used on it.I dont think the AMG's are authentic because I cant see the AMG logo on them.Maybe these didnt have them.Have a look at my W140,youll love it.Trust me!So far,I have received many nice comments from other shopforum members about this car.
