Not me!

I never thought it made sense to jump off of a perfectly good bridge.

I haven't jumped off that particular bridge, but that was a popular past time with me in high school and I know I at least went toothpick from higher than that

That's a cool bridge. Glad it didn't get blown up in one of the wars.

I've not jumped from one that high but I'd be into it. Would be quite a rush, I reckon.

Yes that bridge is located in Mostar , and yes it was taken down by Croatians back in 92. In 2000 Bill Clinton and Bosnians took all the pieces out of the river and put it all back 2gheter.

Here is the 1992 picture http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://mishilo.image.pbase.com/v3/76/348376/2/50195671.Bosniamostar.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.pbase.com/kleine/image/50195671&h=549&w=800&sz=76&hl=en&start=67&tbnid=aF6QoCl_gChSqM:&tbnh=98&tbnw=143&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmostar%26start%3D54%26ndsp%3D18%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:en-US%26sa%3DN

Bosnia suffered tragically during the war. I had friends who had to flee from
Mostar in their VW Golf in the war, ended up in SF finally. We went to their new place a number of times, and I still remember the specially baked Bread, in the manner of Mostar, they made for us and the Plum Brandy (Slivowitz)

We went with them and saw the movie "Vukovar Posi Restante" and they recognized the pitures of their shoemaker in Mostar there. But they were crying, at thee memory of their destroyed hometown, and. had to leave early.

It was a tradition as I recall, to jump off that bridge. But as I recall, after the war the Croatians wound up pretty much on one side, and the Muslims on the other. I don't know if that is continuing today though. Western Herzegovina was wrecked during the war, but I've heard it is coming back though. I would love to see it in the summer

..same here. From what I hear/read Bosnia's a terrific country. Personally I'd like to visit places like Screbrenica, Potocari and Tuzla some time. Holland has a bad history there, although I've learned that the locals have no resentment at all: hard to believe that in view of what happened. Lots of mines still around, though...

Thinking about a vacation, mmm

It'd be fun to go to Munchen, do the Oktoberfest, then for about $200 euros, pick up a W123 that had flunked the German TUV, drive it to Vienna, then to Ljubljana in Slovenia, then tour around the lakes and mountains there. Slovenia is supposed to be a paradise. Then go to Zagreb and drive to Dubrovnik for some serious beach time, and then into Bosnia for some real serious sightseeing, it would be great!

Finish in Sarajevo, dump the car there and fly back!!!

That's some beautiful countryside there.

And no, I would'nt jump off a perfectly good bridge without an equally good reason.
