Angry Timing Chain Crimper is MIA

Though I have posted this in the "Tool Rental" section of our forum, I hope no one minds me double posting . . . (moderators take whatever action you must).

Any forum members live near Bolingbrook, Illinois? If so, please let me know if you would be willing to help me retrieve my crimper. E-mail me at snellings@adelphia.net if you can help.

After over a year of traveling the country from forum member to member, I guess I finally found a bad apple. Now it is time to recover.

Thanks,
Steven Snelling

I am close to that area. What's the situation? Is he willing to part with it? Do you need someone to talk strong with him?

One of our regular forum contributors finished using the crimper and as has been the case for over a year, forwarded it to Erich Baumgartner, 1082 Bothwell Lane, Bolingbrook, IL 60440. Erich has decided not to contact me or the next two people on the user's list. If you have the time, it would be greatly appreciated if you would be willing to retreive it for me. In return, I will PayPal any reasonable amount for your time, the amount to ship it to the next forum member and give you a choice of free use of either the crimper or my MB coil spring compressor set. Those are the only two MB tools I have worth offering.

Let me know if you would be interested in getting involved. This fellow has simply decided to keep my tool.

Thanks,
Steven Snelling

Why would a person who knows you know where he lives, and you have his work and home telephone numbers steal a tool? Doesn't make sense to me.

Erich Baumgartner does not have a phone number listed under his name. I searched and found a sister-in-law and spoke with her. She said the family has been ripped off by him. I have his name and physical address only at this point. Unless he has changed his forum user name, he doesn't appear to be active here. His previous e-mail address bounces back.

The phone numbers listed above in this thread are mine.

Thanks,
Steve

No. The numbers listed above are mine (the owner of the crimper). I do have Erich's address and the forum person that forwarded the crimper to him had his signature receiving it. Phone number I do not have.

Gets confusing: Crimper Owner = Steve Snelling = BrierS = me

Culprit = Erich Baumgartner = Erich Baumgartner
1082 Bothwell Lane
Bolingbrook IL , 6044 = e@covad.net (no longer valid) = has my crimper

I really would appreciate your help in trying to retreive my crimper . . . I have his last know address and it appears to be valid. Please let me know. I will certainly be willing to reimburse you for your time and effort.

Thanks,
Steve

Brier I hope you get your tool back. Its annoying when you try to offer a service to help forum members but you get screwed by one.

Time to get it back "repo man" style.

Sorry, I forgot to update. I went by there last weekend and no one answered the door when I knocked. I don't have time this weekend, but I'll drop by again next weekend.
