Thumbs up *** Have you voted yet? Huh? ***

As "political" as we all seem to be...have you voted yet, today?

And I don't want to hear that "It's only a primary...I only vote in the general election..." stuff. If you're doing that, IMHO, you're only performing 1/2 of your hard-fought-for-and-died-for right to a free election. Shame on you!

BTW, I have...at 0701 this morning! #002 at my polling place...

There were no primaries in my district, but if there was one, I would have declared a party affiliation and voted. As it stands I'm still independent.

I'm and independent too.
The problem is I don't like the Republicans or Democrats. Their all a bunch of Aholes and all they do is bicker. It's really very embarrasing to see them go at it.

But your absolutely right. I should take a stand somewhere and excercise my right to vote.

Maybe I'll join the Reform Party. Go Ralph Nader!!
Or maybe the Socialist Party??

That one.

Every vote counts.
If 10,000 people think their vote does not count, that's just made a big dent in somebodys election results.

Yes, I voted.
MD is one of , I think, 8 states with primaries today.
MD is quite uniqe, the democrats having had no opposition here for decades. We did elect a republican gov last time, but that almost doesn't count as he was running against the least effective candidate I have ever seen--Kathleen KENNEDY Townsend. She thought her name entitled her to a coronation. The dems haven't gotten over the loss. They are so intent on unseating the repub governor that the legislature passed an early voting law, which allowed voting up to 5 days early in principally democrat districts, oh, and no ID checks permitted. It was so bad the the Court of Appeals threw it out. Today, democrat polling judges failed to show up in strong democrat districts making the polls late to open-=-then they went to a judge to keep the polls open later at night. I think its just a trial run for their tactics to really screw up our general election.

I actively discourage everyone I can from voting--makes my vote worth more.

Actually I do not discourage anyone from voting, but I do not understand why we encourage stupid, ignorant types, who don't know the issues, or the candidates, to vote anyway. We really do get the government we deserve.

I agree completely.

An unfortunate but unavoidable side-effect of our participatory, representative form of government is the fact that it inherently allows a LOT of uneducated, unqualified, uninformed, sheep-minded morons to vote.

Well.... quite frankly that sucks.

But nothing is perfect.

In order to guarantee that "smart" people are always given a vote, "stupid" people must be assured a vote too. Sadly, the "stupids" often out-vote the "smarts" in recent years.
