I never experienced the aforementioned noises or rattles. The only reason we sold it is the princess fell in love with the pilot.

Unless your mom is 6'3" and weighs 245, she should be plenty comfortable.

My cousin has one closing in on 115k and I can't tell the difference between his and mine.

Hey, hat hows about a 400E or a 500E. I know you can get a nice 500E for that price, and she would be very happy with it.

Or even a 400E.... She can get one and have it rebuilt for that much, and it would be a new car!

Seriously though, my friend bought a Hyundai Tucson, and its a decent little SUV car thingy... It even has all of the maintainence included for the first 60,000 miles. Overall not a bad car, but kinda cheapy in that alot of the interior is plastic.

Nah no way I could sell my dad on an older car, he wants something with a warranty that he won't have to fix. Mom doesn't care either way, long as it gets here where she wants to go.

My parants and I have totaly different views of what cars are for, they want cheap transportation, I want a fun ride. Heck for $20k I'd be looking at an XJR for something different.:D

I have had Camry's and Accord's and they were all trouble-free except for warped brake rotors, over and over. The only Honda product I've ever had that was a disappointment was my walk-behind mower...it leaves stray blades of grass standing up, just doesn't give a nice finish cut like the old store-brand mower I had previously...

My mom and dad are not "car people"...to them a car is an appliance. They bought Honda's for years, but the last Civic they had was too small, and underpowered, even with a 5 speed, and too expensive...my dad bought a Hyundai Sonata, then my mom got a Kia small SUV of some sort. Even with leather and moonroof, they cost less than the Japanese models, and both have been perfectly reliable. They don't care about depreciation, as they always feel like they get killed at trade-in time anyway. If you can live with a Korean brand, they have some great deals out thee on some pretty nice cars.

Bump.

Looks like we are going for the RAV4. Mom doesn't want a car anymore, she wants something she can hual stuff in. We did look at the new Camry and wow its pretty nice! A far cry from my 1993 Camry, and knowing Toyota it will still be tight at 150k miles.

We test drove the Hyundai Tucsan(sp?) little suv thing today. My dad wanted to check it out along with the Honda CRV before he commits to the Toyota. The Hyundai isn't my thing, plastic fantastic. Ridding around in it was ehh different to say the least. The ride was decent enough, and the interior was comfortable enough. The engine sounded rough, and had no power. I'm pretty sure the SDL could spank it.:D Only the Toyota Matrix proved to be more of a dog, with AWD was more dogish. The Hyundai uses a pretty neat little motor with lots of technoligy but they seem to do it poorly. There V6 puts out about what Toyota's 4 does. It was a decent little SUV but it still isn't quite up to Toyota and Honda standards. Not bad though, one thing I did notice is the price is at Toyota levels these days. One thing that proved annoying, in order to improve fuel economy they gave the thing a real high 4th gear. Which is a good idea, but it kept shifting into 4th every chance it got, lugging the engine. There is no way to lock this out.

Tomarrow we test the 2007 Honda CRV. Although they are pretty sold on the Toyota, next week they will probably buy the RAV4. Its a pretty nice little SUV, mom likes it so thats what matters!:D
