Mi-5

First time I've ever watched the drama. It's pretty good mostly. Seems to be an all-day marathon on A&E right now. It's raining and my family is out of town and I'm experimenting with mixing gin with whatever is in the fridge.

Ever tried gin and artichoke heart juice? Strange, but not unpleasant.

Nope. I'm doing about the same though, except with a bottle of Chivas thats been around for about ten years, unopened. I don't usually drink, but figured I'd crack it open. Not bad, purdy smooth outta the botte for being a non-drinker. For the experienced scoth person, how does Chivas rate on a 1-10 scale? Does sittin in the box 10 years add anything to it? I got a bottle of Johnny Walker Black from the 70's still in the box, would that be any better?

At this point, it could be a week old with Dick Cheney's hunting socks in it and I'd probably say it ain't bad.

There's a strong divide between people who prefer blended scotch and people who prefer single malt. Single malt scotch has a generally stronger and more variable flavor and blended scotch has a smoother, more predictable flavor.

We used to have a Scot who'd post occasionally. but he inadvertently discovered sanity and MovedOn. I though he was brilliant because his tastes in scotch, beer, and ecology matched my own. We differed politically but WGAS about trivialities?

Anyway, I like Chivas Regal okay and would not turn it down. But I'd prefer Oban, Laphroaig or Macallans. I'm one of those single malt guys.

Where's that artichoke juice?
