Worlds fastest employment rejection!

I just had a phone interview for a position as a staff compliance attorney with financial services outfit. Sort of a prescreening to see who they want to waste more time with. The interview started at 10:30 and ended at about 10:40. I got an email at 10:47 stating thanks but no thanks. Well, somebody doesn't waste any time! Quickest rejection I've ever had. I'm used to having to jog my memory to try and remember who it is that sent me the rejection letter today, not this time! On to the next one.

Not that fast, but.....

I knew a guy in TV production. He had a job but had applied for another. Following his interview, they made him take a drug test. He smoked a lot of gang, and didn't suspect a drug test back then for that type of job. After not hearing from the station for a week, he calls and asks, "So, how'd I come out on that drug test?" He didn't get the job.

Yeah, getting strung along sucks.

In college I interviewed for some dumb summer job. After six weeks, they called me in for a second interview and offered me the job! Since I had naturally taken some other $6.00/hr dead end for the ten weeks of time I had free to work, I thought I'd give 'em a piece of my mind. Which I did. that was fun...

Had even a faster "get otta here". Applied for a job in Mall Management one time. Sat down with the interviewer, went through the normal bla bla bla, then got to my job history and qualifications, got stopped 3/4 of the way through telling him what a "brilliant manager" I am and got told "your qualifications do meet the criteria we are looking for". I'm like "okay...your loss". :silly:
