Because I know that being run over by a bus would suck, even though it has never happened to me.

You guys are just envious of our state. After all, why are you guys talking about it? But anyway, we love the attention. Most Americans wouldn't even know where half of YOUR states are but everybody knows JERSEY.

Jersey, like many states, has beautiful areas like the Delaware Water Gap and the entire NW part of the state, but then it has Newark, and Jersey City and Camden. All places I would not want to be walking around in, in the dark. But the same goes for Bedford-Stuyvesent Brooklyn or Wyandanch Long Island.

I think part of the bad rep. for NJ is New Yorkers talking bad about it, Joe Piscapo and the Saturday Night Live skit and Kamil's big mouth.

Kamil, you must have been a good boy this week because you are still here.

Yep. I stopped going nuts since the mods finally took care of my harasser. I figured that if he could break the rules then so can I.

By the way, Newark is one of the fastest growing city in New Jersey. I kind of hate it since everything is under construction. They are building parks, repaving everything, putting in electric trolley cars etc. The city is really improving, especially the down town area. But if you wanted to you can still go to the slums and buy a gun for 350 if you need one.

Personally? I love it here in Jersey. Ocean County is a great place to live.. and the town I live in was one of the safest in the nation. People are generally friendly and helpful, until you reach north Jersey (Halfway up Monmouth county, and you're in hell).

Drivers here suck, I'll give you that. Kamil is a perfect example of why the drivers in this state suck. I don't care who you are.. cutting people off and tailgating just because they're from out of state, isn't safe. Don't want to sound cocky, but I think I'm the only person in NJ that uses his turn signals, merges properly, stops at stop signs (FULL stop), and slows down for yellow lights. The only unsafe thing that I do? If I see someone trying to "squeeze in" without using their turn signals, I speed up to ensure that they miss their exit. It takes a hell of a lot of effort to use a blinker, doesn't it?

The state speed limit on the highways are usually 65mph, meaning that everybody goes 85+. 65+ yr olds love to ride in the left lane, with their left blinker on, going 40-50 mph. Traffic becomes a problem because of this.

We have some of the best food in the country, if you ask me. I'll even go so far as to say that some NJ Pizza is *BETTER* than NYC Pizza. All the italians (myself included) moved down to NJ from NY, anyway. 24 Hour Diners are everywhere.. you really can't go hungry here. Want to make a sandwich at 3AM? We have 24-hour grocery stores, too.

Yes, there's a lot of things wrong with the state.. most of which is in North Jersey. Stay out of North Jersey, and you'll be fine.

I'm glad they are finally rebuilding - it honestly couldn't get any worse. One time we ended up at Journal Square in Jersey City at 1AM because we missed the last train out of NYC. The cop there wouldn't leave our side til we found a taxi. His words: You really, REALLY shouldn't be here!

Really? I've been to journal square at 3 am two weeks ago with a girl. Nobody bothers you. I guess they can spot the out of towners from a mile away.

You guys do know that most Jersey people will try to run you off the road if you have out of state license plates right? It's all because of the crazy things ALL you out of state people say about New Jersey.

I'm the opposite of you. I hate South Jersey as it seems to be a different state. They have farms and corn fields there!!

North Jersey suits me well, everything moves do darn quickly.

Maybe we should organize a GTG in Jersey and then take a tour...plenty of girls here to choose from.

Voting Sharpe James out was probably one of the best things ever done for Newark. I was working in the city on 9-11 and afterwards saw the migration to Westchester and Jersey City. For a while there was more construction in Jersey City then in Manhattan.

Well said!!! In one direction we have the beach & bays. Mountains in another... country, city, everything is right here...

Want to talk about what is REALLY wrecking Jersey? Northern Jersey people moving into Ocean and Monmouth County. These people come in like they own the town... and make just about everyone hate them in 5 minutes.

But that's another story.

We get the same thing on the east end of Long Island. The Hamptons are already ruined, but the north fork is still nice.
