Hattie and expensive trinkets......
Hatt and others who may be interested: I checked out a boat yesterday that was passing through, and near the rigging station across the cockpit from the stern controls, there were 5 holsters mounted containing..........5 sets of Van der Staal pliers:eek:
I asked the captain (who was riding with the hauler--precious cargo--Buddy Davis) how much they cost and he said around $400.00/pair and they are made out of titanium. Dude, that is like buying a diamond necklace for a dog.:dizzy2: I didin't even know VDS made those. |
Yeah I think they are more like $250 each though.;) They are a very nice top of the line plier. There are a couple companies that make pliers in the $200-$400 range, for us fisherman that just love high priced toys!
Women can wear $10k rings, but we have our reels and pliers!:D |
those things better float incase they fall in the water

Oh more pricey then I thought!
I'll stick to my $20 Shimano pliers until I can afford the good ones, sucks being a college student can't afford the good stuff.:D |
**** high dollar pliers. The Donmars were a nice gesture, but I would have never bought them myself. I have several pair of $20 BP and shimano floaties and crimpers. When I fish in the winter (next week!!!!!) I don't carry anything too nice, because it is too cold to want to go after anything that goes over the side.
I saw a guy (drunk) lose an $800 Trinidad set up last year when an amberjack grabbed a lil snapper he was bringing up. If I would have lost one of my Penn 320 or 330 GTi's I would have been able to laugh about it at the end of the day but his day was ruined. |
