Uncle Sam wants You.

Do we need a larger Military? Specifically, more boots on the ground. Can the all volunteer military support all of our needs? Do we need the Draft?

Draft? Not at this time. The US army is fine at its currant levels. Although more F22/35's would be a good thing.

With more than 3000 ICBMs why would you need a bigger military? Plus, they're already paid for.

What is the difference between a mercenary and modern soldier? To cover the shortfall Uncle Sam is paying private military companies to do the work that he does not want to be a part of or needs help.

There is no need for a draft when you can simply pay the Dogs of War.

We should start the draft, especially for people that are not in college. If you are not bettering society by going to school you are most likely a burden for the rest of us. Might as well do something productive. Although, if WW3 started I would enlist myself along with the first draftees. I really would.

Just because someone isnt going to school does not mean that they arent bettering society.

I wonder if they'll take old farts like me?

Lately my job has been sucking so much that going to Iraq is starting to sound appealing. Maybe I should sign up. Then I could work off some of the aggression I've accumulated in my current job . .

I'll tell you one thing...I have a few friends that are Iraq veterans and they ARE NOT NORMAL PEOPLE. When they left for the war they were nice guys but now they seem strange. They talk about killing and murdering all the time. They also talk about how boring the ordinary life is.

In today's day and age it's perceived that way.
Where can you get a 120k job without a degree?

That seems to be the same effect that working here has on people . .

. . . of course, nobody ever accused ME of being normal to begin with . . .

Spare me, you are not telling the truth.

Regarding the "not normal people" you think they are not normal because after military life a person changes and it is difficult for those who have not serve to comprehend the change. When returned to the military I wondered why my old friends were stuck to their old immature ways while i was disciplined, motivated and knew life had more meaning than deciding what club to go to on Friday night.
